I know this is a late post on this site, but I was watching Les Hiddons ,the bush tucker man on TV last night and he wears elastci sided work boots. I would'nt ,,but he does.

Someone should start a Sydney based walkers club,,Im sure everyone will continue walking as a hobby after Kokoda.We are doing the BlueGum Forest at Blackheath this Sunday,,just a quick 4 hour walk down to the bottom and back up with all our gear.We are doing Kokoda in July and are in training.Might even have a beer at the pub on the way back.

Hi Tom,Im also going in july,,we set foot on the track on the 12th.

why not leave your pack in a garbage bag at night time,thats what we do when we bushwalk in Ozz.
