Dad, I wish you were home in bed and you will be happy to have your shower and be warm and dry tonight. We have been to the beach today, but we haven't even touched our swimmers or boogie boards since we've been here! Love Jacob and Thomas

Craig, Congratulations, we are always proud of you, you set yourself this challenge and have conquered the track. Well done, looking forward to seeing you. Enjoy the beer and comfy bed tonight and of course the shower!!! Our deepest love, Dad and Mum. Yes – I cried – you knew I would!!.

Well done Craig! I am so very proud of you. You talked about doing this walk to me one night in Gundagai and I'm so glad you decided to do it and that you've finished it safely. Enjoy your night of comfort tonight – hoping you'll be rested up for a big family reunion by the end of the week! Much love, Mel.

Craig, Hang in there, just the home run to go. The beer will certainly taste good. The boys built amazing sand castles today, we have walked the break wall tonight and dined at Off the Hook – as usual – delicious. Eagerly awaiting your return, love from all at Port.

8th October: Craig is now in Efogi the half way point and is doing really well according to Winnie who phoned in today. They have gathered up the remainder of their food rations at Efogi and now look forward to walking out in Kokoda.

All three appear to be having a great time going by the way Winnie spoke today.

How was the camping been? Have you been over a river yet? We have just been fishing with Ferg and no luck! Oscar is having a good sleep and Thomas is downstairs doing something. Aunty Mel is showing us on a map where you are. Me and Mel are going to have a crab tonight and nobody else is getting any!!!
    Love from Jacob

Last night saw us meet up with a lone trekker from NSW at the Gateway Hotel. He looked keen and eager to go.

This morning I collected him from the Gateway and drove him to Bomana War Cemetery. Our driver and truck turned up not long afterwards to drive him and our boys up to the starting point at Owers' Corner. His name is Craig Ferguson and he is carrying all the way himself so is out for the challenge and some history thrown in along the way. His guide is Winnie Pore and walking with them is Glen Henson who is also one of our guides. They are best mates so I am sure Craig will enjoy himself with these two guys.

The following photographs were taken at Bomana War Cemetery around 8:15am this morning.
