Hi to Grae and Trekkers in Team 118,

Looking at the map, you have all done very well in getting to Goldie River yesterday. Again looking at the map the passage to the finish doesn't look like a big days trek, but I'm sure there's more to it than a small hill! I'll get the champs on ice and celebrate with you when I here (or read) that you have made it out of Ower's Corner. I trust that you are all fit and well and I look forward to seeing all the photos and hearing about your time on the kokoda trail. Personally to Grae, we are all well and Jess sends her love and said to say well done dad.

You will notice a difference in the temperature on arriving back in Sydney. It's been very cold at night and there have been snow falls in the Blue Mts. and the snow fields. It is supposed to warm up this week end.

Well the excitment for me in watching your progress each day is about to come to an end. I have enjoyed being on the sidelines, what am I going to do next week!! Maybe I'll follow another teams efforts!! Thanks for taking on this adventure as it has given me an insight into the trail, which I must say I've heard all about, but to see the map and read the areas of 'steep and tiresome' etc, and to feel your experience; gives the bigger picture.

Looking forward to seeing you Grae and having you home. Say hi to Steve and all the gang.

Hi to Grae and the trekkers in group 118. I have been following your progress each day from the web site and am pleased to read how well everything is going. (I trust it's all true – that you are all feeling well and enjoying your sore knees, painful feet!!) Can't say I really wish I was there, however I consider that as a group you are better men and women than me, I don't think I could manage such a trek and I admire your courage and our forefathers that have undertaken this trail. Would you believe when I was at the gym (yes gym!) yesterday 'the great outdoors' show was on the plasma, showing the trail in all it's glory (beautiful views and very slippery mountain sides) and all I could do was watch and think that's what you're doing right now. By the way the compare only did 4 days of the trail and he reckons it was tough. Go team 118! Well you are over half way now and only have 3 days ahead. I trust that the knowledge that you're almost there will spirit you on to a blazing finish (slightly too much, sorry, it sounded good) and a good bath!! You'll need it, as I'm sure I wouldn't want to sit next to you on the plane trip home. In closing I hope you are enjoying your adventure, just remember that we back home are thinking of you and wishing you well throughout this life experience. Bye for now see you on Sunday.
