Hi,
If you are an Australian citizen, simply purchase a visa on arrival at the Port Moresby International Airport. The cost is K100 ($50 AUD) approximately and is very easy to obtain when you say you are visiting Papua New Guinea to walk the Kokoda Trail.
Other than the hassles of sending your passoport away for a visa and the possibility of it…[Read more]

Hi,I walked 19 times last year wearing a pair off light weight Solemans, that weren't waterproof. Light weight is important, as you lift your feet up and down 30,000 times + a day. They didn't need wearing in at all, and didn't get any blisters at all. They lasted the whole year as well. Need another pair for this trekking season though. The sales…[Read more]

Each campsite has a rubbish pit dug in the bush that they fill…[Read more]

Hi Brooke, You met Wayne when you left Menari. You were walking down the new steps and Wayne and I were walking up to Menari. Just in case you don't remember. He is a very friendly guy and goes out off his way for everyone. I feel for him and his family. Loosing a child would be the worst thing possible.Shane

Couple of things to remember before booking with a Tour Operator.1. Check for personal liability insurance. A lot of operators do not think this is important.2. Check that the trek will go ahead no matter how many trekkers are booked. It would be a shame to have to replan your holidays, because the trek didn't attract 12 trekkers in the group…[Read more]
