• Good advice.Just confirming it is 3 times in 2 hr 30 mins (@ 2 1/2).I probably could do 4, still at same pace or little slower but I have to add 45 mins there and 45 mins back to Mt Dandy making it a long day out. Still got to do the household chores too smile.gif

  • QUOTE(Fordy @ 3 Jun 2012, 06:39 PM) [snapback]14069[/snapback]If you are doing 3 repeats of the Glasgow track comfortably then your training preparations are going really well.hmmm 'comfortably'… hmmmm, the third could be better discribed as Clumsily tongue.gif 2 hour climbs, is that in reference to the real Kokoda track?

  • Yes, the Glasgow track is rocky, uneven, slippery due to loose rock/stone not mud. I do it 3 times a session to feel I made the trip worthwhile. Would I be right in saying that's 2hr 30 mins for the 3 up & backs?

  • Perfect directions to Mt St leonards. I went up and back today and had a very good day.It is 7.5 km, some sections steep but quite easy under foot (not rough and slippery).I went up in 2 hr 30 mins and came down in 1 hr 38 mins.Compared to Dona Buang, hmmm, Mt DB definately has many more sections to it where you have to plan your steps and watch…[Read more]

  • fantastic directions. Cannot wait. I will do it this weekend, then I am off to the Lerderderg Gorge next Saturday, then on that Sunday I will go to St Leonards again, may see you there then, how much time do you think it takes?

  • Hi Saloo8,I have done the Mt Donna B track, great track, did it on a Sat and again on the Sunday. Not done St Leonards, would love to know how to find tht one, as the weekend is approaching and I dont seem yet still to know exactly where to park and walk to with the High Lead track, perhaps I will replace it with this St Leonrds one. The info…[Read more]

  • as my time will be limeted by the time I get there, what is the best, hardest, steppest, muddiest, most Kokodaish section that you would recommend? Thanks

  • Hi all, I realise this forum is a getting on a bit but I have a simple question,Can someone, in detail, tell me where the "High Lead Track at Powelltown" is. Eg where I park the car, then where do I go. I have been looking at maps and cannot see it.ThanksGeoffrey

  • Hey Howie,I so happen to be traveling to Adelaide for Easter and am going to go up the side of Mount Lofty, apparently there is a cafe at the top in which my wife intends to stop at while I (we) do the hill a couple more times.

  • OK, I have made a decision. I am going with the Scarpas. I feel I will need lightness on my side. When I returned the Mammut boots I went to a different outlet of Mountain Designs and was served by a boy who looked no more than 18 years old. I said I was returning these as I thought they may be too heavy for Kokoda. The boy said yes they are, and…[Read more]

  • What were the Mammut boots you took? I have narrowed down my boot choice to Scarpa Kailash GTX and Mammut Mt Crest GTX. Have no idea which I want to keep and which I will return to the shop.
