This morning trekkers were picked up around 6:15am and by 6:30am we were on the road to Owers' Corner. I took a photograph of the group before we left Sogeri Lodge where they spent the night in a bush setting:IMGP3730__640x480_.JPG

The guide for this trek is Tarina Bore. Unfortunately shortly after Lionel walked off from the archway he slipped and fell. He decided to give it a go but has just called up and said he will come back and rest his ankle for a couple of days and then re-consider his options whether to walk or not.IMGP3728__640x480_.JPG

Congratulations are in order for trek 728 as they walked off the track today and are presently at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Initially the plan was to stay at Hoi for the night but seems they changed their mind when they saw how close to the finish line they were. Trekkers reached Isurava earliler today and their guide Trevor called in from Deneki and said they were walking off the track today 1 day ahead of schedule.I managed to pass on a message from Aaron to Emma and she said a big THANK YOU!Both trekkers and porters have done well.

We heard from the track today that they were all at Isurava Monument area and were moving on down the track to spend their last night in the bush. It was a bad line and they promised to phone again later today.

Trekkers spent last night at the half way point of Efogi. Arnold said they were all doing ok and pleased with themselves. Today they will move on to 1900 campsite.

As I type this, trekkers are on their way to Popondetta to catch their flight back into Port Moresby. Message just read from Kristen said that Collingwood won so Andrew should be happy when he hears the news today!

Heard today that trekkers are doing ok. Our guide phoned from Emita Ridge and said everything is going ahead as per plan and trekkers and porters are doing well.

Update 1st May – Great News – trekkers have just arrived at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat at 6:25pm ! No doubt they will be wanting to have a wash before relaxing and enjoying themselves.Huts.jpgHut_4.jpg
