Not long before their visit a cyclone hit the Oro Province and many bridges were washed away in November 2007. Correction: Ourselves, Kokoda Trekking have been maintaining the airstrip for several months and have been proud of the new look of the runway and sides. We heard from the track that the first night was spent at Goodwater Campsite area and not Ua'Ule Creek. The following night they spent at Ofi Creek and the last we heard they were heading for Agulogo. Today they should have reached the half way point of Efogi!SDC11944__640x480_.JPG

Trekkers are on the home straight now and we have been advised they will walk off the track around 8am tomorrow morning at Owers' Corner. Last night they were at Ioribaiwa Village and today when they phoned in were on the move heading down to Goldie River.

The plan today was to reach Ua'Ule Creek where they would spend the night. We will no doubt hear tomorrow if this is where they ending up sleeping.
