Kokoda Adventure Trek Owers’ to Kokoda

Date: 18th June 2024 – 24th June 2024

Kokoda Adventure Trek commencing at Owers’ Corner on the 18th June and finishing in Kokoda on the 23rd of June where you will overnight. The following day, 24th of June you will fly back to Port Moresby to end your trek. – Trek 1212

Itinerary:

Day 1 – 18th June 2024: Owers’ Corner to Ioribaiwa Village
Day 2 – 19th June 2024: Ioribaiwa Village to Agulogo
Day 3 – 20th June 2024: Agulogo to Naduri
Day 4 – 21st June 2024: Efogi to Templeton’s Crossing II
Day 5 – 22nd June 2024: Templeton’s Crossing II to Isurava Memorial
Day 6 – 23rd June 2024: Isurava Memorial to Kokoda
Day 7 – 24th June 2024: Popondetta to Port Moresby

Update 18th June 2024

Trek 1212: This trek got away this morning and are on their way towards Owers’ Cnr. I just received some photographs taken at Bomana War Cemetery and have posted them for family and friends back home who maybe following their progress.

Update Trek 1212: Clement called to say they had a big day and are now at Ioeibaiwa Village for the night. Tomorrow another big day as the plan is to reach Menari. Everyone is doing really well and are looking forward to heading into Myola as they head towards the other side.

Update 19th June 2024

Trek 1212: A short time ago both treks 1212 and 1207 caught up with each other at the top of Maguli Range around 11:30am this morning. Clements group kept moving on and the three girls are having a break before walking towards Nauro Village. Later they will head on further down the track to Agulogo.

As for the 6 guys, they are moving on further to Menari for the night.

All trekkers are doing well.

Update 20th June 2024

Trek 1212: Our 6 men and their team of KTL boys are heading to Naduri for the night. tomorrow they will take a detour into Myola Lakes before heading towards Kokoda. They too are doing well as I spoke to Clement last night and he said no problems with anyone which is great news.

Update 22nd June 2024

Trek 1212: This trek have now settled in for the night at Isurava Memorial and will walk off the track into Kokoda around midday tomorrow or a little later. Clement said they are all enjoying their trek along with the KTL crew of boys who were chosen to walk with them. Everyone continues to do well.

Update 23rd June 2024

Trek 1212: As I am typing this trek is heading towards the Kokoda Archway to finish their successful trek. Clement sent me some photographs which I have just posted. This morning they had a service at the Isurava Memorial before heading off. Lunch at Hoi, and now they are about to finish. As for our KTL boys, home to their families following another 96km trek. No doubt looking forward to seeing their families and having a home cooked meal.

Trek 1212: Congratulations are in order as they are all now safely off the Kokoda Trail and presently relaxing in Kokoda. Tonight they will be hosted at Clement Harika’s family block at Saga Village wehere his mother and other family members are preparing their evening meal. Sadly the Eroro Family where our trekkers normally stay, have a death in their family and are presently preparing a funeral.
Tomorrow trekkers will be driven down to Popondetta for their flight back to Port Moresby. Well done to our trekkers and our KTL crew who walked alongside of them.
