Kokoda Adventure Trek Owers’ to Kokoda

Date: 05 AUGUST 2025 – 12 AUGUST 2025

Local guided trek commencing at Owers’ Corner on the 5th August and finishing in Kokoda on the 11th of August where you will overnight. The following day, 12th of August you will fly back to Port Moresby to end your trek. – Trek 1211

Itinerary:

Day 1 – 5th August 2025 Owers’ Cnr to Goodwater
Day 2 – 6th August 2025 Goodwater to Ofi Creek
Day 3 – 7th August 2025 Ofi Creek to Menari
Day 4 – 8th August 2025 Menari to 1900/Myola Junction
Day 5 – 9th August 2025 1900 Myola Junction to Eora Creek
Day 6 – 10th August 2025 Eora Creek to Hoi
Day 7 – 11th August 2025 Hoi to Kokoda
Day 8 – 12th August 2025 Popondetta to Port Moresby

Update 5th August 2025

Trek 1211: A former trekker by the name of James (Jim) Goode (who today is on his 4th trek ) along with a friend Stephen Vink headed off in a bus from ‘The Stanley’ Hotel along with our staff to commence a walk from Owers’ Corner.

Update: Trekkers and our staff decided to stop the night at Goodwater so a short day for them but after all the travelling, time to rest up before the big climb tomorrow.

Update 6th August 2025

Trek 1211: Our group have now bedded down for the night at Ioribaiwa Village. Stephen is powering along while Jim felt a bit sick it seems today but is now ok. Tomorrow they will head up Maguli Range and stop for night at Nauro Village. Clement said Jim was strumming the ukeule this afternoon that Ramsy was carrying.

Update 8th August 2025

Trek 1211: Everything is going ahead as planned. They left behind Nauro Village and the last time I looked at our GPS, they where are Agulogo heading for Manari Village for the night.

Trek 1211: Update live from the track today 8th August at midday. We stayed at Nauro Village last night and today we’re heading to Brigade Hill, passing through Manari. We are sending this from the wall. Jim, Steve and our KTL team are all well.
Clement sent me some photographs which I have just posted under their trek album, Trek 1211.

Update 9th August 2025

Trek 1211: Clement made contact saying they had reached Naduri Village where they were staying for the night. Tomorrow they will walk into Myola before heading to Dump 1 to spend the night. Trekkers and our KTL team continue to do well.

Update 11th August 2025

Trek 1211: Think today of Jim, Stephen and our KTL staff making their way towards Kokoda and the finish line. Yesterday Jim decided not to go into Myola but Stephen took up the challenge and headed off with some of our boys later returning and spending the night as a group at Dump 1. The plan today is to stop of Isurava Memorial.
