Update 4th June 2024
Trek 1201: Trekkers and our KTL team are now bedded down for the night at Alola Village. Everyone is doing well, both trekkers and our staff. The highlight for today was Isurava Memorial where the group stopped for lunch and to pay their respects.Update 5th June 2024
Trek 1201: Trekkers and our KTL team continue to do well. Tonight finds them at a fairly new area referred to as ‘Lukobo’ which I am led to believe is not too far from the Kokoda Gap. Tomorrow the plan is to head into Myola before making their way to Naduri for the night. No rain at this stage so its a dry track. Both Tim and Sophie it would seem are enjoying themselves as they make their way along the track with our KTL boys.Update 6th June 2024
Trek 1201: Last night this trek stayed at Naduri and this morning were on the move through the village of Efogi and now for lunch finds them at Brigade Hill. Everyone continues to do well.
Update 7th June 2024
Trek 1201: After lunch at Brigade Hill, they moved on further down the track and are now settled in for the night at Menari Village. They will have a short day tomorrow when the plan is to stop at Nauro Village. Apparently the track is dry, no rain at all since they commenced their trek. The track is also empty as I was informed they haven’t passed any groups since they left Kokoda.
Update 8th June 2024
Trek 1201: Last night was spent at Nauro Village and today they were on the move towards their final destination before walking off the track tomorrow around 11am. Everyone continues to do well.
Update 9th June 2024
Congratulations to Timothy and Sophie who walked off the Kokoda Trail today along with our guide Clement Harika and our KTL team. Thank you guys for getting them safely from Kokoda to Owers’ Cnr. What a gutsy effort for Tim at his age, well done!
