Update 4th June 2019
Trek 1151: This trek was picked up around 6am this morning and a couple of hours later found themselves on the track heading to Ua’Ule Creek for the night. Tony Ogonemi is their guide. Tony just called me a few minutes ago to say they all went well today and they arrived at their destination mid afternoon. Tomorrow a short day as they head to Ofi Creek for the night. Trekkers include: Brendan and Alexander Robinson; Rob and Katie Anderson. Walking with them is Christopher Talanoa; Tom Hango; Kingsley (Kini) Eroro; Morris Jinga and Peter.
Update 5th June 2019
Trek 1151: Tony called to say they have pulled up as planned at Ofi Creek for the night. A big day ahead of them tomorrow as they head up Maguli Range, through Nauro and then on to Agulogo for the night. No problems at this stage except for the fact the boys are on the track and have requested ‘State of Origin’ texts to be sent to the sat phone! Go QLD, the boys on this trek I have been informed support the ‘Maroons’
Update 7th June 2019
Trek 1151: Tony apologised for not calling in yesterday to say they had reached their destination of Agulogo. This morning they were on the move heading towards either Efogi or Efogi II for the night. He said they were all still powering along and enjoying time with the trekkers. Picture them this morning at Brigade Hill.
Update 8th June 2019
Trek 1151: This trek has now reached Templeton’s Crossing and continue to do well. Tony said they arrived there around 2pm. Plan a) tomorrow is to stop at Isurava, Plan b) is to pull up at Deniki for their last night on the track. Not too far now, and you will all be walking under the Kokoda Archway. Keep up the good work.
Update 9th June 2019
Trek 1151: We not long ago spoke to Tony Ogonemi who informed us they had reached Alola Village. They plan however on pushing further on down to Isurava Memorial and then to Isurava Village for the night. A message was also passed on re Seaforth 2-0 win. Everyone continues to do well but sadly one of our porters on this trek lost his father two nights ago and will walk off ahead of the group and remaining staff will stay and walk off tomorrow as planned under the archway in Kokoda to celebrate their successful trek.
Update 10th June 2019
Trek 1151: Congratulations are in order as trekkers walked off the track in Kokoda and through the archway around 1:30 this afternoon. They will make their way now down to the ‘Eroro Family Block’ where they will relax and spend the night before being driven down to Popondetta tomorrow morning for their flight back to Port Moresby. Well done to our trekkers and our staff.
