EXPERIENCE

One of our oldest guides is Harold Hauro from Kokoda. Harold is also an ‘old boy’ as he commenced walking with us in 2004 and has done well over 100 treks across the track but when asked he could not recall the exact number. According to Harold he completed high school in Popondetta and now when not walking the track attends his Oil Palm trees which in itself is very hard work and keeps him fit. Harold says he loves to share the war history with our trekkers along with his culture plus what he knows about flora and fauna. He holds a First Aid Certificate and looks forward to each trek despite of late developing a sore knee. Retirement might not be too far away but we hope he will continue helping Kokoda Trekking by way of training the younger generation. Thanks Harold, you are appreciated.
