MemberI have been told to look for a travel backpack cover that is used to protect your backpack and its straps when placed in the baggage systems of airports. The straps and other bits can be damaged in handling (even if they are careful) so the best thing to do is put the whole backpack in a pack cover of sorts.
I am off to find a good one this weekend so any tips on which ones to get and stay clear of would be handy.
PS: Not to be cofused with a pack cover for waterproofing your backpack, I have this already.

MemberDid you find a pack cover? I have just bought an expensive One Planet pack, and I would like to preserve it for many future treks if possible! I would be interested to know what you got, and how much it cost.

Memberwe are using big hard case suit cases to transport our backpacks, this will also hold the stuff we want to leave behind.

MemberI was going to get my pack wrapped by the bubble wrap guys when I got to the airport. I don't have a suitcase big enough to hold my pack so thought that would be an easier option……..

MemberThat sounds like a good idea.
I actually sewed myself a zip bag that holds my pack – tested it on a trip to NZ and it worked fine. It kept all my pack straps contained so that they didn't get broken in transit. But if you don't sew…
