MemberRemember funny guy and entertainer – Nick Penn on Channel 9's Television programme – Wonderworld. Well, he is currently out on the WWII Kokoda Trail with the group who left on 10th of October.
For those who have been following this months trek closely – we have been informed of the comedian's presence in Pam Christie's group of 8 Days and 7 Nights.
Yesterday (October 13) we spoke with Penn who enthusiastically informed us on the radio about his trek.
"This is really a great experience for me. The people of Australia have really a special link towards Kokoda Track. Australians have kept that alive by walking the track.
Everybody has their own reason for trekking and Penn has his own. "I guess like what most Australians would like to do – come to remember those Australian soldiers who have fought and died during WWII."
He said: "Back in Australia, Kokoda Track is a big thing. It is being talked about on Australia Television and other media channels."
Penn said many Australians take interest in walking the WWII track and many more want to come and go back and talk about thier experiences.
"Australians like to go where Aussie soldiers have been like Gillipoli and Kokoda Trail is jut one of those special place."
The TV entertainer was doing it tough yesterday – he was behind while the team members went on ahead.
The comedian entertainer arrived in PNG this week to perform at a function in Lae. A big thank you to Pam for allowing him to join this trek
Today his group with Eric Uwea as their guide are currently headed towards Nauro – this morning Eric radioed from Brigade Hill to inform us that everyone was doing fine.
Before dark they will reach Nauro where they will camp for the night. They are expected to complete their trek the 17th of this month.
