I have a goal to do the trek for my birthday (55). I am fit & enjoy trekking but only get to do so locally around Cairns sometimes. Otherwise I do ride a road bike approx 200km per week so even though 55 I don't believe I will be a burden to any group. It's only me as I can't persuade my wife to come!!
I particularly want to do south to north & as I indicate wouldn't mind if there were extra days/sights included
Keen to hear from anyone

MemberHey dont play down 55 coz thats what I am and I walked it ok in November without too much training.
My friend was 65 and a lot fitter than myself and she did extremely well. Ran into her in Brisbane in January and she still says it was the best holiday she has ever had.
Besides if you can ride that far on your bike, Kokoda will suit you perfectly coz thats one of the things we recommend for training leading up to your walk.
