    Update 8th August, 2005;

    Trek 94
    After their trek commenced on Saturday, the group headed out with 12 trekkers and 17 porters. This includes 10 personal-porters and 6 food-porters pulse their guide Andrew, who makes it 17, which sums up to a total of 29 altogether.

    Trekkers are made up as follows: Steve Teunon; Mark Gay; Mark Young; Chris Lehmann; Aaron Gay; Mark Hardy; Brad Lonsdale; Mike Redmond; Geoff Graubner; Nick McNaughton; Mark Nicholas & Roger Thomson

    The group spent the first night at Ua-ule creek, and on the second night they decided not to make it long walk instead, to cut it short and camp at Ofi creek. These sort of short walks will give the trekkers enough time to rest those tired bodies and relax, most importantly regain their strengths and get prepared for their next day walk and I?m sure it must have helped.
    The group was up at Maguli Range when Andrew, gave me a call on the two-way-radio to inform me of their whereabouts and the trekkers conditions. He said all trekkers are ok, so far none of the trekkers are struggling or having problems, they are all doing terrific.
    They are planning on spending the night at Menari and from there will move to their next destination tomorrow.

    More updates to be posted up later on.

    Update 9th August, 2005;

    Trek 94
    The group is now at Efogi 1 village having lunch. All trekkers walked well, they are all happy and enjoying the trek. They where up at Brigade Hill a few minutes before then and slowly made their way down and now reside in at their 4th camp destination.

    They will be joined by another lot of trekkers and porters from Trek 118 who were coming from Kokoda direction, heading to Owers Corner, so both groups will spend the night in the same campsite.

    Other then that, all is well; everything?s fine and thing are looking really good.

    Update 10th August, 2005;

    Trek 94
    They had lunch up at Naduri village not long ago, and now heading towards Myola Junctions, where they will camp for the night. All trekkers are well, all are happy and still very much enjoying their trek. Their guide just informed me that, the trekkers are moving faster, and walking way ahead of time, so yeah it looks like the trekkers are still strong and fit.

    Other than that, all is well and everything?s fine, except for; we won?t be hearing from the group when they get to Myola, due to their location. They will be in lower grounds, which will result to not clear or two-way-radio won?t be able to transmit well. But I?m pretty sure everything?s going to be fine at the end of the day; they will get to their campsite safely and move out from their, when tomorrow comes.

    More updates to be posted up tomorrow.

    Latest on the trail;

    Trek 94
    Amazingly this group some how managed to get in touch with me, which I for one wasn?t expecting a radio call from them. I?m sure the guide must have found a way to do so, probably he climbed up the highest tree to get a better reception or who knows, he must have ran up the highest point of the mountain to tell me that they?ve reached Myola Junctions.

    All trekkers are well and doing fantastic, they were all eager to know who won the cricket match between England and Australia. So yeah, I?m pretty sure they must have pushed their guide to find a way to get in touch with me to give them the final scores, and fortunately enough for them, they reached me. They were very luckily I had to pass the scores on time, before their radio just went off.

    Track heading to Myola Junction.

    Update 11th August, 2005;

    Trek 94
    All trekkers and porters are now up at Mt Bellamy, all are well and happy and looking forward to moving down to their next camp destination, Eora creek. They will make a stop at Templeton?s Crossing 1, have lunch and from there move on, but for now, they are still up at Mt Bellamy resting. From top there, you see a clear view of Kokoda from itself, so yeah they are not far from there now, two more nights out on the trail and they will finally come out.

    We will get a call from them later on today, and get their latest report; otherwise all is well and going good.

    GDay Trek94's,

    We see from the published pictures that Roger is sitting down, and Nick is taking photos. Great to see your progress and looking forward to the full pictorial report when Nick recovers from the heat in cool Canberra days.     Update 12th August, 2005;

    Trek 94
    During lunch time today, the group made a stop up at Alola village where they had lunch and some good few minutes of rest. But when all was done, they started of for yet another long day of walk which will lead them to their next campsite.

    It is said, they will spend the night at Deniki look-out point this evening and from there, will walk down to Kokoda station tomorrow, the end of their trail journey which I?m sure all trekkers are looking forward to that.

    From what I heard from their guide Andrew, all trekkers are doing ok, they are all fine and having a good time. There's no report of nay injuries or such, all seem to be moving great.

    My apologies to everyone for the late update. I was not able to speak to the guides or trekkers today, as I was out all day, and just got back late this afternoon.

    This trek did really well and arrived back as planned today Sunday. Some of the trekkers had to catch a flight back home this afternoon so it was a pity Russell and I could not catch up with the whole group at the Gateway Hotel tonight.

    Russell assured me the guys who flew out seemed to have had a great time and I am sorry to have missed them as I was ferrying trekkers from the Airways Hotel to the airport when I passed them on the road….hopefully they will email me when they get back home and let me know how they enjoyed their trek.

    We did however catch up with the remaining trekkers tonight and it was good hearing about their time on the trail and how they all seemed to gel together as a group which is good news for all of us.

    At the airport today I did managed to take a photograph of some of the trekkers that Russell could not fit into our bus on the first run to the Gateway Hotel:
