Trek 82 & Trek 105
Both groups have already arrived in the block and are now settled in their respective guest-houses. Soon they will have their evening meal, to be followed by coffee or tea night, were they will all gather around and tell stories, crack jokes or the porters and guide will give guidelines and brief the trekkers on what they will be facing for the next 9 days. They arrived in early this morning so, I?m pretty sure the guides and porters must have taken the trekkers around the little Kokoda Station to have a look around, and even to the Museum.
The quiet little Kokoda Station.

MemberQUOTE: John Derick Eroro – a veteran of almost 400 treks is the guide for the Outbound group and is overall responsible for both groups.
Davidson, his brother is leading the POMIS high school group as their choice as he was the guide last year. We have also tried to hire some of the same porters at David Lucas's request.
Was chatting to Davidson by two way radio today and he informed me that John's group were already in Efogi and they were hot on their heels.
Both groups planned to stay the night in one campsite at Efogi. He said everyone was doing just great which is great news.
Jessie will be back tomorrow following the long weekend and will post updates.

Trek 105 & Trek 82
Due to internet problems all through yesterday, I could not post up the groups progress. However today, I will inform you of their yesterday?s movements and trekkers? conditions. Both groups spent the night at Efogi 1 village, and headed out to their next camp the very next morning. With the sun up and the weather looking good, all trekkers were up bright and ready to hit yet another day of their trail journey.
The groups where up at Brigade Hill when Trek 82, guide John Eroro called in to inform me of their whereabouts and the trekkers conditions.
He said all trekkers are doing absolutely terrific, no problems or difficulties all are well and enjoying the trek. They will head on down to Menari where they will camp for the night, and will move out from there tomorrow, which is today.
Seen here, porters up at Bridage Hill taking a rest..

Trek 105
The group is currently located at the pinnacle of Maguli Range. They are all taking a time out rest and soon will head on down to Ofi Creek where they will camp for the night. All trekkers are doing tremendous grate, no problems or injuries, they are all still looking fit and in good shape.
Despite the many ups and downs, the trekkers are handling it well, enjoying their trek and also enjoying each others company, which clearly shows that, surely when they return, they will have a lot to talk about. All the students on this trek plus the teacher in charge would like let all POMIS teachers and students know that, they are all fine and doing ok.
Other than that, everything?s ok, everyone?s doing well, only the weather hasn?t been turning out the way they want it too.
Their guide might not call in later on this afternoon, due to the location they will be camping tonight, but if he does I will update you all on their progress. From top of Maguli Range

Trek 82
After spending the night at Menari village yesterday evening, the group was up as early as 6am to start yet another day of their trek journey. With all trekkers up and bright, it was time to start off.The weather did not look pleasing this morning for the 12 trekkers, but despite the rain and muddy grounds and slippery hills, all the trekkers did grate and with only one thing on their mind and that was to make it to their next campsite New Nauro, and they did exactly that. They all walked well and made it safely back there.
As soon as they arrived at the camping destination, their guide gave me a call and informed me of their whereabouts and trekkers conditions.
Said everyone did ok, although it was a rough day for all, they did terrific and made. No injuries or problems, all trekkers are fine so are the porters. The weather still cloudy, so don?t know if it will rain in the night, otherwise everything else is ok.
I could have posted this up 5:05pm this afternoon when their guide called, but due to internet problems, I was not able to do so.

This group was at the top of Maguli Range when their guide called in to inform us of there whereabouts. He said all trekkers are doing fine, weather looks a bit dull, but hopefully it won?t rain today. They will now head on Ioribaiwa Ridge, where they will have lunch and push on from there. The group is planning on spending the night at Ua-ule Creek, and from their will come to Owers Corner tomorrow.

Trek 105
After spending the night at Ofi Creek, the group was up bright and early this morning to kick start their second last day of walk. All trekkers are ok and still going strong and well. They will have lunch at the foot of Ioribaiwa or probably Ua-ule Creek.?We are planning on spending the night at Goldie River and come out as early as 8am tomorrow morning. All trekkers are doing absolutely grate, even though it?s challenging, they are handling it well and doing terrific,? reported Davidson, their guide.
Other then that, everything else is fine, the weather looks good, so should be grate day.
Food-porters move ahead of the group to boil hot water, and wait while the trekkers and the rest of the group to join in later on.
