Treks 317A & 317B headed out to Kokoda as planned and overnighted at Russell Eroro's Family Block in Kokoda. This morning they were up bright and early for their first day of trekking.

    Trek 317A which comprises of:

Wayne Bradford; Michael Kelly; Stephen Hledik; Joe Cunningham; Stuart Schnaars; Ken Cousins; Roger Noble; Brendan O'Brien and James Parsons

arrived up at Isurava Village first and from the way our guide spoke they did really well.

    Trek 317 B consisting of:

Jack Skinner; Adam Waterworth; Justin Roberts; Greg Versace and Katrina Stokes

arrived at Isurava Village sometime later but did ok. Katrina did it tough and accepted a porter to carry her pack but does not want to turn back!

Update 13th July: All trekkers spent last night at Efogi Village. Two trekkers will decide today if they are to continue. One guy James slipped over and hurt his knee and is thinking of pulling out.

Katrina has had an upset stomach and is feeling weak.

Will wait to hear from our guides as to their decision.

Update 13th July: Received two different radio messages today 30 minutes apart stating trekkers were at Brigade Hill. James it seems has stayed behind at Efogi but Katrina has decided to push on as she is feeling a little better today.

Davidson called in first around 8am and reported he started out ahead of the other group. Just now at 8:30, Kinglsey reported in.

Both treks will now proceed to Menari and then push on to Efogi where they will spend the night. At Efogi tonight there will be three treks. Our boys who are on secondment to PNG Trekking walking with Nikki George and our two groups 317 A & B.

Hence I can imagine the singing tonight if they are not all too tired with that many boys in the village along with their uke'ule's and love for music.

Update 13th July – 4PM: Trek 317 A is now at Nauro and trek 317 B is not too far behind. All trekkers are doing ok. They all seemed in good spirits according to our guide Davidson.

On arrival at Nauro they met up as planned with our other group of porters sharing the same campsite.

Kingsley Boropi called in around 4:45pm to say his trekkers had arrived at Nauro and were all doing ok including his sick trekker. In fact he said today she walked like there was nothing at all wrong with her which is EXCELLENT news for us all.

    Hi Gail.

Just wondering – how do you guys get all these photos out whilst on the trek.

Editors Note: The photographs are in my database and I go through and find one that suits wherever the trekkers are at the time I am writing about their trek.

Update 15th July: Trekkers walked from Nauro down to Goodwater where they spent the night of the 14th and walked out today at Owers' Corner where our transport picked them up at 10am this morning. Both treks were looking so happy when I caught up with them at the Gateway Hotel later today.

Our Guides Davidson, Kingsley and KTL porters got a good mention about how they looked after them whilst out on the track.

On behalf of Management and Staff, we would like to thank both treks for choosing Kokoda Trekking as their preferred Kokoda Track operator.

Perhaps we will see some of you again, until then, happy memories of your visit to PNG and your time on the Kokoda Trail.
