MemberOn June 27th, 16 trekkers, mostly from Australia left Port Moresby to walk Kokoda Trail. Among them was Jessie Garap and her younger sister Ilyana of mixed parentage of Morobe, Simbu and Popondetta (Oro province) in Papua New Guinea.
Except for Tom Polley, Chris Worth and John McRae, everybody else in the trek were mostly young people with the youngest aged 14.
The group returned Monday last week (July 5th) after a nine-day trek. They were tough even though the weather was not that friendly. It was raining most of the times throughout the trek but they beat the rain to it and made it to the end of the trek safely.
Just like everyone else that walked the trail they have their stories to tell about their experiences. Jessie Garap recently wrote about her experience along the trail and I guess everyone else who's been through the same experience will relate well to her story.
