MemberCELEBRATION TIME….Airways Hotel taken 17th June – John Derick Guide lying on the floor and the others acted as personal porters for all YOUR HAPPY TREKKERS:
Words cannot describe the feeling in the air last night! From a trek operators point of view, it was what I hope to see at the end of a trek, all these guys really pumped up and raving about their experiences and our KTL Boys and what they did for them and the companionship they had for 9 days which they all shared:
Believe me when I say, its the WOW FACTOR! Which leaves Russell and I feeling so PROUD of our boys who left today 18th June to head back home. All personal porters received from their trekkers some track items such as backpacks, etc and boy, were 'THEY HAPPY'.
Trekkers remarked they are not BOYS they are MEN. However, the boys themselves wrote a song about being SIMPLE KTL BOYS so the word has kinda stuck.

MemberUpdate – 8:00am 18th June: Our driver is just picking everyone up to take them for breakfast at the Holiday Inn. So once again they climb in the back of our people mover only this time with Mary, Lisa, Tom and Jack (I assume) unless they decided to ride with Michael in his car.
PS: and you thought the updates had FINISHED…..no, these guys are living it to the FULL while they are in Port Moresby

I highly recommend KTL for anyone considering engaging a trekking company for the Kokoda. Gail, Russell and her crew offer a very professional service and our walk went as smooth as clockwork. The trek leader was superb (thanks John!), and the porters (thanks Bill!) are a fantastic bunch who are dedicated to making the trip fun, but also ensuring everyone makes it home safely. However, what most impressed me was the obvious commitment KTL has to the local Kokoda communities. If you think it is important that a portion of your trek fees stays in the country and helps Papua New Guineans, then go with KTL! Good luck Gail and Russell and the rest of the KTL gang. Thank You, Gail, Russell and the KTL Gang

Trek 366I had a fantastic time – the days were always hard but the nights were great – the porters kept us going and were great company. Your staff wre always happy to answer questions and were very knowledgeable about the areas and the people.
Personally I was very happy to both complete and experience KOKODA.
Thanks Gail, John and Russell

MemberMy hat goes off to the boys for what they have done for me over the trek as I was in a lot of pain after day 2. Dudley/John & Ray helped me through that day with their bush remedies. Throughout the trek I had pain over the other days and the men helped me through so I thank them very much for the experience and will never forget them.

Trek 366I would like to congratulate Kokoda Trekking for their efforts in delivering the best possible experience. The team of porters including John and Winnie helped us through some difficult times. The interaction between both porters and trekkers was brilliant. Special mention to Dudley who although set the task of literally dragging one of our team members throughout the whole trek, still managed to take time out to help others in the group.
I was surprised to learn that he was not a group leader. This experience has perhaps like others been very emotional and fulfilling. I will have no hesitation in recommending this company as the Number 1 in PNG. My email as supplied below can be used as a personal reference if required.

bob.ellis@olpeer.comWhat an amazing experience. Wonderful generous beautiful people. Special thanks to John and most importantly Murray, my porter and best friend on the trek. Nothing was ever too much trouble to Murray and I will never forget him or the rest of the support team.
The track itself – physically and mentally, a great challenge for me. A country of great beauty.
Thank you and goodluck.
