MemberHi Phil, Hertz, Herbie, Stuart and rest of you guys. Well done so far. Heard Lisa leave at 4.00 am this morning – too friggin cold to get up and wave goodbye but little "Trek for Tom" must have been so excited .. the little pet has missed you so much, Phil.
So, what's the next fundraising cause going to be? Lisa has a great idea, and I'm already sniffing some things out for her idea.
See ya soon and enjoy all the accolades you'll all get – you deserve them.

MemberUpdate 15th June: Trekkers had reached 'Ioribaiwa Ridge' early this morning when I received a radio message from John their guide.
All were doing ok and the word was they will be at Owers' Corner at 9am on Sunday morning.
This morning I was waiting at Jackson's Airport to welcome our first South African trekker when out walked Lisa, Jack, Tom and Mary!
They were supposed to get on a courtesy bus owned by the Airways Hotel but it did not show so I ended up driving them up to the hotel….so yes, have met the person I have been emailing back and forth for ages and TOM who this trek is all about.
Assured them as I dropped them off that I would collect them from the hotel on Sunday morning to drive them up to Owers' Corner to welcome home the 'TREK FOR TOM' trekkers!!!

We also have two trekkers who have decided to turn back who left yesterday so lots happening here at the moment. Plus a group of 13 we said goodbye to this afternoon who head back home tomorrow, the 6 day trekkers.

MemberUpdate Sunday 17th June 10:45pm: Not long home after a very long day! This morning we were up bright and early to head up to the Airways Hotel to collect Lisa, Mary, Tom and Jack for the drive out to Owers' Corner.
After collecting them, I drove down to the Tropic Air terminal building to say goodbye to our porters from trek 361 returning to Kokoda this morning.
Not long after we were soon heading towards Sogeri in tandem with Roger our mechanic out in front in our Toyota Bus closely followed by myself in my Toyota Prado with our people mover truck not far behind and Russell coming up the rear in the Toyota Troopcarrier after he too went and said goodbye to his boys at Tropic Air.
When I reached the Sogeri Monument Area I tried to put my car in 4 WD only to find out it was not working. No worries, it wasnt TOO WET today and the car went up to Owers' Corner with a few wet patches to test us but overall the road was 6/10 today.
A day or so ago, John Derick informed me they would be up at the archway at Owers' Corner at 9:00am so here we were thinking we were on target. When we arrived due to no 4 WD, I decided to stay put up on top of the last hill in case I got stuck down the bottom and could not get up again. Lisa, Mary, Tom & Jack couldn't wait any longer and decided to walk down. At that time we could hear the group SINGING – such a wonderful moment! A short time later I could hear the screams as family and friends saw them walking towards them. All were quite emotional I believe and very HAPPY!
