Boss Meri
Member100 Things Kokoda Adventure Trek – this group got away from Port Moresby around 6am this morning.
After visiting Bomana War Cemetery they were driven out to Owers' Corner where they met up with our porters who were there waiting for them.
According to Ernst their guide, they reached their destination of Ua'Ule Creek around 3pm this afternoon. Tomorrow they are heading to Menari, well thats the plan unless they decide to stop at Agulogo. Ernst said his team are all doing well with no problems whatsoever. At this stage they have the track to themselves as the other trekkings companies including another one of our treks, got away around lunch time.
This trek is one day shorter than our other trek which is why it was decided to send them out early so they could get a head start. So glad we did otherwise they would be stuck in the middle of the other treks and would find it hard to pass large groups.
Trekkers in this group are made up as follows:
-
[*]James Thomas
[*]Amy Cooper
[*]Peta Charles
[*]Renee Bezzina
[*]Patrick Hone
[*]Russell Sheil
[*]Tara Watson
[*]Johanne McKenzie
[*]Kate Fryer
[*]Lynda McQualter
[*]Stephanie Law
[*]Suzanne Anderson
[*]Sebastian Terry

MemberTrekkers have now reached Naoro Village where they have stopped for the night. Tomorrow the plan is to head to Efogi the half way point.
Everyone is doing well, four ladies apparently doing it tougher than the others but nothing to worry about according to Ernst their guide when he phoned a short time ago.
Tonight they are sharing the area with another private group walking with boys from Kokoda.

MemberTrekkers have now reached Templeton's Crossing where they are camped for the night. Only one more night on the track before they head for the finish line in Kokoda. Today they would have been able to see Kokoda in the distant so no doubt getting excited as they put one foot after the other looking forward to successfully finishing their trek. Think of them tomorrow as they cross over this cane bridge situated at Eora Creek.

MemberReceived a sat phone call from Isurava Memorial where this trek is spending their last night on the Kokoda Track. The estimated time of reaching Kokoda tomorrow is around 2pm. Everyone is excited and looking forward to walking under the archway. Picture them standing in a circle at the memorial just like past trekkers who have walked with us.

MemberCongratulations from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking as the group walked off the track out into Kokoda Station mid afternoon. At the moment they are all relaxing at Orohaven.
Picture them today as they would have walked through the archway and how excited they must have all been. Well done everyone!
