    Latest on the trail;

    Trek 88
    The group was up at Imita Ridge when their guide Landy Noel, gave me a call to inform me of their whereabouts. He said, all trekkers are fine and doing really good, though it was a tough climb in the beginning all trekkers did absolutely great.

    They are now resting up at the top and having something to eat, as soon as they are done, they will proceed down to their next destination, Ua-ule creek.

    Trek 146
    This group is also up at Imita Ridge, having lunch and taking a time out rest. They will move down with the other group to Ua-ule creek, but whether or not they spend the night there, is yet to be confirmed by their guides.

    Weather looking good, so should be a good day. Both trekkers did terrific and they are ok.

    Latest on the trail;

    Haven?t got a call from this group since I last heard from them up at Imita Ridge, I?m pretty sure it?s to do with their reception. But if they do give me a call I?ll let you know how everyone?s doing, if not, we?ll just wait and hear from them tomorrow.

    Other wise I?m pretty sure they are all ok and doing fine

    Trek 146
    Same with this group haven?t heard from them, but I?m sure Glen and Wallace will do their best to help the two guys and take care of them.

    More updates to be posted tomorrow.

    Incase you are wondering what's happening, both groups Trek 88 and Trek 146 have caught up with each other this afternoon and are all heading toward Nauro campsite.

    Everyone's getting along well with each other and it seems all will camp at Nauro tonight. In the time of writing – Landy Noel a guide for Trek 88 radioed and informed tha they are currently up at Maguli range and are about to make their way down to Nauro.

    "Olgeta samting orait tasol, mipela is stap orait tasol. Nau mipela stap antap long Maguli Range. Long hia bai mipela i wokabaut isi, isi igo daun long Nauro. Ol Sampela i go pas pinis,"

    ["Everything's all right here, we are all doing okay. Now we at the top of Maguli Range. From here we'll be descending towards Nauro. Some have left ahead of us and on their way towards Nauro."] Landy said.

    We inform Landy to asked the trekkers once the have settled in to pass their messages back to their loved ones back home if they wanted to. Jessie will be standing in to get the messages home.

    Almost 4 hours after they left Nauro this morning, Landy the guide called at 11:40 to give their situation report. It seems TREK 88 and TREK 146 decided to stick together. They are two different groups but all progressing as one towards Menari campsite at the moment.

    According to Landy all trekkers are doing great. Perhaps a little exhausted after that grinding climb up towards Menari Lookout, but that is all part of the experience and are sure to get more of that along the way.

    Landy was up at Menari Lookout when he gave us his first call for today: "Present Location – Menari Lookout, from here we will walk down toward Menari."

    A very clear reception today and didn't really need to strain an ear to listen – so that indicates clearly a friendly weather to accompany them all the way to Menari.

    Asked if Greg MacLennan and Jason Elvy were anywhere near Landy so we could pass on their messages. "They are ahead of us. They have already walked down toward Menari," Landy came back over the radio.

    Hmmm….very impressive, don't you think so? They are moving fast ahead of everyone (don't know if they are trying to beat the time here but sure have a feeling they are running away from the heat of the sun…haha..you know how it is in PNG- we can stand it but not all trekkers that come by, want to walk long hours under hot, humid weather. Well, they'd be lucky if they come across any creeks)

    Anyway, Landy will sure let both guys know that they have message from their families and friends back home and will read the messages over the radio once they've settled down at Menari.

    12:50pm

    Hi you all that have sent messages for Jason Elvy and Greg MacLennan. It seems Landy finally caught up with the guys. We passed on your messages and guess what. They were all very thrilled to hear from all of you. That made their day today. To end that tough and exhausting walk with well wishes and love from their family is just so comforting.

    Both Jason and Glen says they appreciate this so much and many, many thanks for your support and the wonderful news back at home.

    Landy just commented after we passed the message onto the guys. He said: "You know it is such a good thing to do this because they are out here in the jungle and sometimes they wonder what their families or friends are doing back home."

    He said when the trekkers received such news they all appear to be very very happy. "I think this kind of communication service keeps them going and don't want to stop. Because they know the families and friends back home are watching their progress," Landy said.

    And indeed it does; the guys know that that you are all following their trek and are thrilled to know to that you are with them all the way to the finish.

    All treks are now at Menari campsite. All will camp here tonight. Everyone's settling in okay. Since they are in the village they will be walking down to the nearest creek to bath and then back to the campsite.

    Tonight's rest will be a well-deserved one before the guys continue the next leg of their adventurous journey tommorrow to Efogi.

    Until then…..

    Message from Jason. He was sorry to have missed his nanny's birthday. He also sent his love and best wishes to his family.

    Sorry this is a belated message as it should have been posted the night before last.

    He hoped his nanny enjoyed her birthday.

    Latest report;

    Trek 146
    The group now reside in Efogi village.

    Although the suns been very hot during the day and the mountain's have been pretty tough and challenging to climb, both trekkers did absolutely great, no problems what so ever, only one trekker was dehydrated yesterday afternoon, and Glen the group guide helped him through and so far he did really well, his feeling a bit ok and doing fine.

    They are now sitting in the wind-house at Efogi with trekkers and porters from Trek 88, just sharing stories, cracking jokes and relaxing those tired bodies. Maybe after a nice cool bath and some few good minutes of nap, they will be able to regain their strength to allow them to go site-seeing around the village later on this evening, it?s still a big time, so I?m sure they will do that.

    As for Trek 88, their guide hasn?t called me to give the latest report of his trek, but I?m sure he will, once they?ve settled in.
