MemberWhen reached Deniki they must have decided to keep going on to Kokoda as Julia has just walked into our base in Kokoda at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat, 1 day ahead of schedule.
Congratulations Julia, well done from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking!

MemberHave just spoke to Eric Uwea and he informs me Julia is very fit and was running! To him it meant he could not slow her down so they ended up walking off one day ahead of their scheduled time of arrival in Kokoda.
Eric sounded VERY HAPPY. Once Julia has had time to relax I will phone him and talk with her – so will keep you posted.

MemberWell done Julz you have completed the most difficult part. Its all downhill from here. After all the work, sweat, and tears you have put into this, you are going to feel a great sense of achievement at the finish line. So proud of you.

MemberPhoned Kokoda later in the day and it seems they were all celebrating with a few beers their successful trek. Tomorrow will be a relaxing day for Julia and a walk up to the Kokoda Station is planned to look inside the War Museum there as it was skipped today.
On Monday Julia will be flown back into Port Moresby.

MemberToday as planned Julia went for a walk around the Kokoda Station area then back down to our base in Kokoda, Orohaven Kokoda Retreat where she relaxed and had a late lunch.
I spoke to Julia earlier today and she was bubbly as before but said she went through a few tough spots along the way and is just so pleased with herself for completing her trek. When she was talking to me often the mention of how well the boys looked after her came up in the conversation.
Look out for when she gets back home as based on what she was saying this morning, Julia thinks a few of her friends should follow in her footsteps and that of our Australian diggers. Julia mentioned she has so much more respect now for Australian history having walked the Kokoda Trail.
I will catch up with her tomorrow morning when her flight arrives in from Kokoda.

MemberJulia's back in town and was all smiles this morning as she told me about her time on the track and at Orohaven in Kokoda. She was so in awe of her personal porter that she gave her camera to him, what a nice gift. Thank you Julia for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking. We are so proud of you for going outside your comfort zone such as the mud/bugs etc and for crossing over the finish line in Kokoda, well done from all of us here at KTL.

MemberWell done Julia, I can see that you don't have any leech marks on your face which is a good sign. See you soon!

MemberHi everyone. Thanks for all the well wishes. I can't believe I survived. It was the hardest physical challenge I've done in my life. But the feeling of finishing cannot be described.
I have so much respect for the Australians that fought on that trecherous path. I also have more appreciation for the PNG locals that helped me through it. For all who are considering, just book and lock it in!
