    Last night 31st July had me at the Gateway Hotel (my second home) to meet with another group of trekkers who headed off today.

    All trekkers were up bright and early and got away at 6:30 which was very good.

    Trekkers seen here at Ower's Corner which included:

    Kevin Jamieson; Brent Rae; Martin Beanland; Dave Minter & Alan Higgins

    Update 1st August, 2005 by Jessie Garap;

    Trek 87
    Early hours this morning, 5 trekkers head out for their 10 days 9 nights Private Trek expedition, which began this morning from Owers Corner. The eager trekkers met up with their personal porters and guide, Paulo Tauanoa at Gateway Hotel, when they were about to drive up to Owers Corner with our KTL 2 truck.

    With the sun up and the weather looking fine today, I?m sure its going to be a good day.

    While the group was up at Imita Ridge taking a rest, their guide Paulo gave me a call on the two-way-radio to inform me of their whereabouts and the trekkers? conditions.

    He said trekkers are really enjoying the trek. Although it was a tough climb up Imita Ridge in the first few minutes, all 5 of them did great, none of the trekkers were having problems or facing difficulties, they all seem to have done really well.

    Other then that, the weather still looks great and hopefully will last the day.

    Looks like the group will spend their first night in Ua-ule creek, and will continue to their next destination tomorrow.

    More updates will be posted up later on….
