Boss Meri
MemberJames Goode arrived in Port Moresby yesterday and was met by our staff and spent the night at our base in Port Moresby. This morning they left Port Moresby around 8am and headed out to Bomana War Cemetery.
Jim can be seen in the 3rd photograph below with his personal porter Wayne Urina. In the other photograph he is with Ramsey Idau the current Kokoda Challenge Winner for 2012 in a time of 18 hours from Kokoda to Owers' Corner.
Ramsey walked in as a training run for this year's Kokoda Challenge Race and plans on walking with them for 3 days then turning back to Port Moresby.
In the group photograph, all the boys can be seen. They include, Clement Harika; Wayne Urina; Ramsey Idau and Lenny Enjeka.

MemberOn the way to the commencement point at Owers' Corner, they stopped off at McDonald's Corner to pay their respects.

MemberHeard from the track that they spent last night at Goodwater and today the trek is heading to Agulogo. According to Shane when he phoned in from Maguli Range, all was going along as planned with no worries with the exception of himself as it seems he slipped over and hurt his ankle.

MemberThis trek has now reached the half way point of Efogi where they are spending the night. Ramsy our Kokoda Challenge Champion left Efogi this morning to head back to Owers' Corner in time for the trek heading off from there tomorrow. All other porters will continue to walk with the group to Kokoda.

MemberCongratulations are in order as James walked off the track into Kokoda and under the archway around 2pm this afternoon. At the moment they are presently relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.
According to Shane, Jim did really well.
Well done from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.
Can you picture the excitement he must have felt walking towards the archway after having successfully completed his trek.
