Trekkers in this group commenced their trek around 1pm this afternoon. Early this morning they attended the Anzac Day service at Bomana War Cemetery which meant an early start with a pickup time of 4am. Trekkers in this group include :

      [*]Colleen Williams
      [*]Jayde Livingstone
      [*]Amy Walker
      [*]Peter Crew
      [*]Nathan Alexander

Following the service, trekkers were taken to the Australian High Commission for the 'Gunfire' breakfast and later picked up and brought to our base in Boroko.

The photograph below was taken minutes before they boarded the bus which was to take them up to the drop off point at Owers'Corner.

Today, it was planned to have a rather short day and spend the night at Goodwater campsite. This went ahead as planned and later today their guide Shane Thomas informed me they had reached their destination and that they were all relaxing after an early wake up call this morning.

Shane called in from Maguli Range today to say that last night they camped at Ofi Creek. Today after Maguli Range they would have passed through Naoro Village before heading down to their destination of Agulogo to spend tonight.

Tomorrow they will reach the half way point of Efogi.

Trekkers are now in Efogi and continue to do well. Colleen sends a message to Pete, Bear and Bud, that she is thinking of them and loves them very much.

The group have now reached 1900/Myola Junction where they are camped for the night. Shane says everyone continues to do well which is great news.

On the way to their destination today, trekkers passed through the village of Naduri.

Last night trekkers were at Eora Creek and would have walked across the new cane bridge they have built across the raging creek. I can still recall the roar of that creek as the water pounded on the rocks.

Today trekkers reached Isurava Village. Tomorrow they will walk out in to Kokoda having successfully completed their trek. Earlier today they passed through Isurava Memorial before heading down to where they are now spending the night. They all continue to do well and no doubt at this stage will be excited to know tomorrow they will reach Kokoda.

Congratulations to trekkers who walked under the archway in Kokoda earlier today. At the present time they would all have tucked into a few pizza's At Orohaven, our base in Kokoda and no doubt by now would have retired for the night. Tomorrow they will be flown back into Port Moresby. Well done everyone!
