Boss Meri
MemberReceived an update from Wallace today saying last night they were at Naduri Village and today their destination is going to be Templeton's II.
Michael is still finding it tough but is doing OK and is now past the half way point and heading for KOKODA so Wallace is confident he will get them all to Kokoda. He said the sun was shining today and that he hoped it would stay that way as the past few days has been raining most of the day.

MemberBoss Meri, Thank you for all of the up dates, We like to keep check on the determined men, I am sure it will be a life altering experience, what courage the young soldiers had to keep going, and also knowing that the enemy was waiting for them and the task of pushing the enemy back. cheers Maggi

MemberHeard via the grapevine from someone on the ground in Kokoda that the group were planning on overnighting at Alola tonight and will walk off the track tomorrow into Kokoda.

MemberTrekkers ended up reaching Isurava Village yesterday and walked off the track today.
So congratulations are in order for trek 844 as they walked out in Kokoda around 12:30pm today. At the present time they are relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Just spoke to Michael and he said the first three days almost killed him but he caught up and finished well.
Will let you know what the other two young guys thought when I catch up with them tomorrow.

MemberAs I type this trekkers should be touching down in Australia following their walk across the Kokoda Track. Fun and games were had earlier this morning when the vehicle they were in along with another one owned by Air Niugini, got bogged in a river crossing on the way to Girua Airport.
Help was soon its way in the form of a bulldozer to pull them and the other vehicle out. They arrived at the airport in time to catch their flight but for some reason today Air Niugini re-scheduled the flight and instead of arriving in Port Moresby at 8:00am they arrived around 2pm.
Maggi, I only just read your message now so did not pass it on. I am sure he will tell you all about his trek as he is now talking about bringing back your sons and I am sure I can recall 'cousins' mentioned. Michael said it was a great time to trek as the track had no-one on it and the rain cooled him down so if he was to do it again he would choose the same time of the year.
As for John and Shane, I think it was an adventure they will not forget in a hurry.
Thank you for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking.

MemberThank you Boss Meri, You were wonderful to keep us updated over here, I really enjoyed going into the web site each day, I hope Michael can get the boys to go with him again. (his sons) I am Michaels Mum. All the very best to you and the guys on the track who helped so much, I am sure they all would not have made it if the helpers were not there. Best Wishes, MAGGI
