Have just spoken to Heather and she sounded really happy. It sounds like she has really enjoyed herself out there on the track and started to praise the boys but the line kept breaking up so I suggested we talk later today when the reception is clearer.

It seems they are all excited about the fact that they will all complete their their trek!

Picture them today as they walk towards the archway in Kokoda!

After spending some time at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat there was some anxious moments as it rained all night and two rivers were flooded and it took some wheeling and dealing to get a 4wd vehicle up from Popondetta to pick up our trekkers.

Hence, they had some more fun yesterday following their trek just getting to Popondetta to catch their flight to Port Moresby.

When I met with the group yesterday at the airport, there were smiles all round as they talked about their time on the track plus their adventure of yesterday.

On the way up to Sogeri Lodge to pick up Heather's bag, it was clear they all bonded together as a team and had a fantastic time. Turned out our boys were also impressed with Michael and David as they sang a couple of songs which is not what they are used to! According to Heather who sat beside me on the way up the mountain, she said they sand really well together.

As for James, well he had grown a beard during his time on the track and appeared to have changed a little from when he left and was much more open yesterday so perhaps being in the company of three older companions, he went with the flow and loosened up.

Well done to each and everyone of you for completing your trek. Have just spoken to Trevor Jinga and he said him and the boys thoroughly enjoyed walking with you all. He told me to inform you all to take care, from the Kokoda boys of Trek 702!

The photographs below were taken at Bomana War Cemetery.
