MemberOur last trek for the year headed out today from Owers' Corner with John Derick Eroro as the guide. Around 6:30am this morning as planned we picked up Trevor Crook from the Gateway Hotel and drove up to Sogeri Lodge where we met up with Shayne Rodgers. Turns out both guys are from Melbourne so found they already had something in common.

MemberJohn Derick Eroro their trek guide posed for a photograph as he followed up the rear of this group. John has walked the track hundreds of times but once again was looking forward to adding another one to his list.

MemberSorry, no regular updates as John has not called in. He has walked the track so many times that he probably thinks they are in safe hands and unless something is wrong, there is no need to bother us. Whilst myself on the other hand are constantly thinking of them everyday. By now they should be spending the night at 1900/Myola Junction if all is going according to plan.
By tomorrow they should be in the vicinity of Eora Creek. In the meantime we wait for John or one of them to radio or call in to give us an update.
We are led to believe they have the track pretty much to themselves as when we applied for the trek permit that was what was indicated to us by the Kokoda Track Authority.
Its been wet here in Port Moresby so we are also wondering if its raining on the track and that is why they have been having problems getting a signal out. Will keep you updated as soon as we hear from them in the meantime, we keep saying no news is good news!

MemberTrekkers have just walked off the track in Kokoda today Sunday where they are presently relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat enjoying a few celebration beers with their guide John and porters. Will catch up with trekkers on Tuesday when they fly in from Kokoda. In the meantime they will no doubt have some relaxation time at Kokoda.

MemberI met with these two guys around midday today and they were all SMILES!! Well done guys, I bet you were starting to panic and wonder if you were going to be picked up.
Hopefully the flight back to Port Moresby went well and that Shayne got away on his flight this afternoon.
Tonight I managed to upload all the photographs taken on your trek to facebook, please click on the following link:
