Boss Meri
MemberAfter a long walk yesterday, the group found themselves at Menari where they are spending the night. I have been informed that they are in the best guesthouse in that area.
Apparently they started walking at 7:30 and arrived at the campsite around 5:30pm.
All continue to do well. Mikayla has one knee a bit sore and Pat cramped yesterday but apart from that they are doing just great.

MemberWe heard from another of our groups today who passed this group early this morning going in different directions. They said they looked happy, fit and ready for another days walk ahead of them.

MemberUpdate 24th August: Last night the group managed to reach Naduri Village where they spent the night. Andrew called in around 6:30am to say they were about to move off with the plan today to reach Eora Creek. He said last night it was quite cold but not as bad as it would have been at 1900/Myola Junction.
Everyone sends their love to their families back home.
Pat continues to carry his 18kg pack and is doing ok. Mikayla still carrying one sore knee problem from her karate days but is still doing well. As for the others, no problems it seems and they are making good time.
From all the laughter in the background they appear to be enjoying themselves as well as the hard work of walking the hills of the Kokoda Trail.

MemberTonight if they managed to reach their destination of Eora Creek, they will be sleeping listening to the roar of the creek which is quite deafening. If they did not cross this creek today they will have to tackle the log crossing first thing tomorrow morning, now does'nt this look like FUN and EXCITING????

MemberUpdate 8:30pm 24th August: They are thinking about ICE-CREAM and PIZZA. I spoke to Mikayla and she said they had an 11 hour day today. Nicole appears to be doing it the toughest. Mikayla is still experiencing pain in one knee but is powering along.
Tomorrow they will commence walking around 6:30am and should arrive in Kokoda around 5pm tomorrow afternoon all going well.
Message for Susan: Make sure Elexus takes his running shoes to school for the sports carnival. They said to yell at him if he does not run fast enough…haha

Member25th August Update: CONGRATULATIONS to trek 674 as they all reached Kokoda around 6pm tonight and are now resting at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. James has blisters on his calves but apart from that they all pulled up pretty well. Except for Nicole, everyone is gloating about how much weight they lost. Pat claims he lost 13kg which would be a record if the scales are correct! I think they said Mikayla 5, James 6 and I can't remember the amount for Mark.

MemberI just read out your message to Mikayla and she was wrapped in the news. Today they are spending their time doing some stuff around Orohaven. Pat has been cementing and I believe is now mowing the lawn out the front. James and Mark have been working on our tractor lawnmowers trying to get them working. I have not heard what Nicole has been up to…but Mikayla, well she is helping out in the kitchen and serving customers.
So does not sound like they are putting their feet up and lounging around but are lending a helping hand for which we are very much appreciative.
Sorry to hear about the check up tomorrow, hope all goes well.

MemberTomorrow you can picture the group rafting down the Mamba River with Ramsi Idau and some of the porters from their trek followed by a barbeque. I spoke to Mikayla earllier tonight and it turns out Orohaven had three people book in today so she was busy cooking for them.
She added before we finished our conversation that the men had played some touch football with their staff and then went for a couple of beers in the river down the hill from our property.
