Happy Fathers' Day Tony! Geoff and Bron have …finally… learned how to log onto this system….. For oldies like us its almost like climbing Kokoda (well mentally).. Fabulous images of the area and wow Lachlan – have you grown another .5 metre since we saw you in June???? You all look really great and we really love what you and the group are doing…I am sure Ralphie approves. Hi Tony & Nathan, Leah and Isaiah. Hope you young and fit guys (Nathan, Lachlan and Isaiah) have carried the packs today for the 'oldies' and given them the day off just for being Dads!!!!

It must be really sobering to look at the gravestones and other reminders along the way of our beautiful Ausssie boys (some younger than Lachlan) who died in that georgous place in such terrible conditions.

    How precious is life…..
    Love to you all

    take care of each other
    Bron & Geoff

Hi Leah, Isaiah and all team Ralphie trekkers

Have been following your progress. It sounds as though you are having an amazing time. There's no surprise that Isaiah is first in each day! Your dad would be so proud of you, Isaiah. And you, too, Leah. As are we.

Have been thinking of you today.

Very wet here, it rained all the way home from Cooran to Ipswich. We went up to spend some time with Ian and Lesley and had a really relaxing weekend – no walking at all!

Keep up the great work. There are many people here thinking of you and are with you in spirit.

Georgia is trying to organize a day for Lib to come over

    Love to all

    PS hello Bronco!

Update Sunday 5th September: John reached Kokoda around 1:30pm and is presently enjoying some Kokoda hospitality. As for the trekkers they have reached their destination of Templeton's I where they are spending the night.

According to Trevor, tomorrow they are heading for Alola and the next day should run into John heading in the opposite direction at Isurava Memorial area.

Trekkers continue to do well with no problems. Now they are on the home stretch and the boys will start thinking they will get their trekkers safely to Kokoda and about now also start to think about their families and the celebration at the finish line.

Update 6th September: Hi everyone, trekkers have now reached Eora Creek but the news is not so good today as we have to airlift Peter Rayfield off the track due to a swollen knee problem. At the moment, he is being carried down to where a helicopter can land and its now my job to get him off the track.

This must have been giving him grief for a couple of days as I just met up with another group of our trekkers this afternoon. This was shortly after I received the sat phone call and the doctor in this group immediately knew which guy Peter was as he noticed some pain on his face as he passed him on the track. This was two days ago so goes to show you all how he has tried his best to keep going which is a gutsy effort.

I have just put in a call to his insurance company and am waiting for them to phone me back. As its 3:15pm I doubt if this will happen today as pilots do not like to go into that area unless the weather is really good preferring early mornings instead.

However, he is still with the group and I am thinking they will stay put at Eora Creek instead of moving off to Alola but I cannot confirm this until I hear again from our guide.
