MemberOn the 27th September, four trekkers flew into Popondetta and headed by road to Kokoda where they were our invited guests staying at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Around 7am this morning they commenced their trek with John Derick Eroro as their guide. Trekkers include :
- Kelly Cure
- Vaughan Shelley
- Vittorio Toselli
- Emma Robinson
One person is not included in the photographs below as per her wish. They were taken at Guria airport on the outskirts of Popondetta.

MemberSorry, John has been experiencing problems and only managed to get hold of us today. He said all is good with the group and that they had passed the half way point of Efogi and at the time their destination for tonight was Naoro but it may have changed depending on how the trekkers were going.
He was going to phone me on his mobile at Naoro but has not done so as yet so I am thinking they may have decided to stop at Agulogo instead. John has walked the track close on 500 times spanning more years than he would care to count and is looking forward to adding a few more before he hangs up his boots.

MemberTrekkers are on the home straight now and we have been advised they will walk off the track around 8am tomorrow morning at Owers' Corner. Last night they were at Ioribaiwa Village and today when they phoned in were on the move heading down to Goldie River.

MemberCongratulations are in order today for Trek 637 when they walked off the track at Owers' Corner. I spent much of the day with this group and they were full of smiles as they told about their experiences out on the track.
Emma is still in town along with Kelly and Vaughan. However, Vittorio flew out this afternoon heading for Cairns where he intends to hire a vehicle and drive for the next couple of months around Australia before heading back home to Canada.
Thanks heaps to you all for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking.
