MemberTwo brothers, Brent and Jacob Stowers had an early start this morning when they caught their 5:50am flight to Popondetta. On hand to meet them was a trekker heading back who finished his trek a few days back along with Russell Eroro and some of our Kokoda Trekking staff.
They arrived in Kokoda mid afternoon where they were met by my son Shane Thomas and made to feel welcome at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.
Tomorrow they will commence their walk under the leadership of one of the longest walkers on the track, John Derick Eroro a veteran of over 400 treks spanning many many years.

Member22nd June: Trekkers left Orohaven Kokoda Retreat around 7am this morning. Later in the day John phoned in to say everything was going well and that they had reached Deniki. He said they would spend the night at Isurava Village.
At that stage the brothers were doing really well but had not really felt they were on the Kokoda Trail until the time they would have started walking up the steep hill to Isurava.

Member24th June: Trekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi. Sorry for no updates but John only contacted me this afternoon. Seems they had rain all the way from Kokoda to 1900/Myola Junction. Now at Efogi they finally have fine weather and hoping it stays that way for the rest of their trek.
John said everyone was doing ok and he is confident both his trekkers will reach Owers' Corner come Monday!

Member27th June: Sorry I have not been able to post anything as my internet was down. Have tried several times to upload but it keeps timing out and coming up with an error message, so here goes again.
Trekkers were picked up this morning from Owers' Corner so a big congratulations to the two brothers who walked off the track one day earlier than expected.
After Efogi, they had a big day and ended up at Naoro Village. Last night was at Ua'Ule Creek. They came up at Owers' Corner around midday looking a bit worse for wear then the last time I saw them but very happy none the less.
I will let them tell you all the highlights but they both said it was the toughest thing they had ever done but the most rewarding. These comments are often echoed by trekkers when they walk off the track.
Well done guys!

MemberHi Gail,
Think I've finally recovered from thr toughest experience of my life – a week in Port Moresby drinking SP and eating seafood helped!
Thanks for the awesome adventure, which was made even more special by the great team of John, Paul, George and Ringo (a.k.a Sel). John in particular was a fantastic guide – obviously walking the track 500 odd times gives you some perspective!
Back in Oz now and fielding a thousand questions – doing my best to drum up more business for you!
Would like to get a hold of the photos that John took along the way. Are you able to post them somewhere so we can download them?
Thanks again Gail.
Cheers,
