On the 11th August, my son Shane commenced his walk across the track with Tim Facy and Tim Wease. Unfortunately at the time I was in Kokoda so missed catching up with them. On arrival back in Port Moresby Shane phoned to say they were at Naoro.
At the present time of writing I am in Australia as my mother-in-law passed away early hours of Thursday night and I flew to Australia on Friday.
I have however, kept in touch with my office and was advised that they reached the half way point of Efogi yesterday and all was going well. In fact I was informed by Shane that they are really fit trekkers and they were ahead of schedule.
Tonight they should be at Templeton's area.
44705_465501420970_374403025970_7063944_450692_n.jpg15th August 2010: The group have now reached Alola Village where they are spending the night. Tomorrow they will walk off the track one day ahead of schedule.
Unfortunately for Shane he will miss his grandmother's funeral on Tuesday however, he managed to fly down last weekend and spent some time with her before she passed away.
All trekkers and porters continue to do well.

41235_465502845970_374403025970_7064015_7739991_n.jpg18th August: I arrived back from Australia in time to meet with the two trekkers when they arrived from Popondetta today along with my son Shane Thomas.
Our driver took them out to Bomana War Cemetery and later back to their hotel. As I type this Shane is again meeting up with them to pass on their certificates of achievement.
When Shane arrives here at the office tomorrow we will post some photographs from their trek.

One of the highlights must have been meeting up with Brendan Buka the track champion in 16 hours 34 minutes from Owers' Cnr to Kokoda!
