MemberUpate 24th July: Trekkers have now reached Eora Creek where they are spending the night. The are down low so have not heard from them but the other group trekking in the same direction are now at Alola and they informed me a short time ago.
Tomorrow they will no doubt move on down to Isurava village to spend their last night on the track.

Memberupdate 24th July: Message from Alice via sat phone 7pm tonight:
We had a lovely mud slide today, mostly down all the way and it was almost like skiing on mud. Thanks for all the messages, love and hugs to all, doing well and we can't believe there's only two more days left.
We all have wet and dirty clothes. We are having fun as well!

PS This was her response after reading out all the message posted to her. Keep posting everyone as I will have a chance again tomorrow to read out some more.

MemberMessage from Wallace Lemeki: The group continues to do well. He has been taking them slowly along not trying to tire them out. He said Kevin is out in front most of the time along with Frank and his mother. They are looking forward to spending another night with the group this time at Eora Creek and know the finish line is now in sight. He added that today they experienced some showers of rain but for Brian reading this, nothing like when he walked in the same area!
Tomorrow they will walk up to Alola and down to Isurava Memorial where they will spend some time before moving down to Isurava Village to spend the night. The next day they will walk off the track into Kokoda.

MemberHi to all on Trek 590,
Congratulations on your progress to date – the end is (almost) in sight. You're on the downhill run. I bet a pizza party is sounding really good about now.
Glad to hear that you all are enjoying yourselves.

MemberHi trekkers
fantastic to hear you're nearly there. It's so exciting reading the updates of the trek. The mudslide sounded interesting. I guess you're hanging out for that shower and fresh clothes about now. Take care all. Enjoy the last couple of days. Safe journey home. Luv Wendy & co24/07/2010 at 3:59 pm #104600Brian
MemberHi Kev and Team
By the time this message gets to you you will be in Kokoda at KTL's Orohaven enjoying a well deserved beer or two with Wallace and the rest of the boys.
Congratulations to each and every one of you.
How was that experience of walking into Kokoda past the hospital knowing that you have made it and completed the challenge?
That moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.
I look forward to hearing of your experiences and seeing your photos on our return to Brisbane in October.
Congrats again
Brian

MemberAs I type this, trekkers should have made it to Alola Village where no doubt they will have morning tea before heading to Isurava Memorial area. Its a tough climb up to Alola so by the time they reach there they will no doubt feel like a rest before continuing on.

MemberWow you're on the home straight now. Congrads to you all. Sybil it was very quiet watching the Wallabies Game without you.
Our boys went really well beating the Springbok 30 to 13. Will Genia made a fantastic try at the end to make sure the game was ours. Keep pushing on and you have made us proud. Looking forward to seeing you back home and so is Wani although I must say she is enjoying the sleep overs! Michelle and Lyle - AuthorPosts
