MemberTeam Kokoda are all going great and looking forward to getting out on Tuesday to a Sing Sing welcome at Kokoda and an overnight at Rusty's Place before flying back into Port Moresby on Wednesday.
Murray Jones said they ran into their first lot of rain today and the boys are enjoying the wet but the adults preferred the dry…haha
He said the track is wet from Alota to Efogi or vice versa depending on which direction you are trekking.
Update 25/06/05: Overheard John Derrick Eroro talking to this wife organising a birthday cake for Jonathan who turned 16 yesterday. By now the boys of Kokoda walking with this group will have smelt home and the pace and mood will have picked up as they will want to show their trekkers where they come from and introduce them no doubt to their families once they reach Kokoda.

MemberHi everyone, all three treks will get out tomorrow as planned. Two treks are bedded down for the night at Goldie River and the other trek is at Uberi.
Yesterday we had a lone trekker head out with a couple of our guys and today we got a message to go back out and pick him up as he fell and injured himself.
Hence we spent most of the day today at Ower's Corner waiting for Walter Steffen followed by a slow drive home as the road was quite wet and slippery.
We are hoping its a sunny day tomorrow with so many trekkers to ferry back into Port Moresby.
On top of this we were also involved in a travel show so its been quite hectic around here. We fortunately have great staff who covered for us during the weekend at the travel show while we packed for the new trek heading out tomorrow to Ower's Corner.
Trekkers should be back in town at the hotel by 3pm or thereabouts after we take them to Bomana War Cemetery.
All messages were printed out today and taken out to Ower's and were passed onto the trekkers by way of two porters who went and met up with Walter so for anyone who posted a message your loved ones should be reading them tonight.
As I type this its raining which is not good as it may delay the trekkers getting back into Port Moresby tomorrow if the road is really wet as we will have to take it easy so please be patient if you phone their room and find no-one there.

Alison has also walked the trail with Steve Ovett the British Olympic Long Distance champion. Sorry the pic is not too clear as it was taken with our video camera. The girls painted their face and put feathers in their hair to look traditional and lots of people asked to have their photograph taken with them.
