MemberSoc Kienzle's Komplete Kokoda trek is now on the track having head off from Kokoda early this morning.
At 7am yesterday they all waited anxiously to board their chartered flight to Kokoda at Tropic Air's terminal building.
After arriving in Kokoda Soc took them all on a gumi ride (on tyre tubes) down a river near where he once lived. I have not heard but I am sure like others before them, they will have enjoyed the experience.
The trekkers on this trek include :
Martin Ellis; Andrew Darcy; Toni Howarth; Ian Clarke; Don Maccoll; Neville Stanton; David Stevens; Leonie Glover; Paul Glover; Donna Fay; Kevin Harding; Marlene Anderson. Their Historian Soc Kienzle and my Shane Thomas.

MemberLast night they spent the night at our base, 'Orohaven Kokoda Retreat' and no doubt this morning would have been up bright and early to prepare for an early getaway to commence their walk.

Member11th June: We did not hear from trekkers since Alola as they are now down low but from the way Soc spoke they intended to head from Templeton's Crossing and walk into Myola and then to Naduri to overnight.
We will report as soon as we hear from the track.

MemberAs planned trek 544 walked off the track yesterday and was picked up by ourselves from Owers' Corner. All trekkers were wrapped with their trek and the history provided by Soc Kienzle.
