MemberWe heard from the track today that they have now reached Ioribaiwa where they are spending the night. The plan tomorrow is to walk to Naoro Village. According to their guide John Derick Eroro everyone is doing ok which is great news! It was hard to hear him properly by two way radio but I think he said the track is wet!

MemberGood to see the boys really did make it to trekking Kokoda and they didn't actuallly board a flight to Bali where they could've been drinking Bintangs, surfing and playing golf. Oh, but that's right, they do that anyway… on another trip!

MemberHow did my husband get out of the country with that hat? If I knew he had purchased it I would have banned it and I would have then searched his luggage for any other inappropriate items!

MemberSorry no up dates as I have not heard from the track as the radio network does not appear to be working.
They are carrying a sat phone so if needed to contact us urgently they could use that instead. So lets think on the positive side that they are powering along and doing well!

Member20th June: Have not long ago received a sat phone call from John Derick Eroro their guide to say its been raining on the track and the radio network is down due to the solar batteries not getting charged.
I told him it was ok as we knew that already as no messages from any company were getting in or out as it was a complete black out.
John informed me that everyone is doing just fine and that if there had been any problems he would have contacted me sooner but was saving the battery life on the sat phone in case of an emergency.
He gave me a run down of their trek so far.
The first night they spent at a place they refer to as 'Goodwater' camp. The next night was as mentioned earlier Ioribaiwa. The following day they moved on to an area between Naoro and Agulogo that they refer to as 'Trumpet's.
Last night they spent the night at the half way point of Efogi and today have reached 1900 Myola Junction.
Tomorrow they plan to reach Eora Creek.
The good news is that everyone is doing well and are now on the home stretch heading for Kokoda!

Member23rd June: Sorry, have not been able to post anything until now as trek radios are still down.
Congratulations to Trek 542 as John Derick Eroro has just contacted us by telephone from Kokoda to say that the group walked off the track yesterday so they are all safely in Kokoda.
Last night they stopped at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat and again tonight. Tomorrow they will be flown back to Port Moresby and should arrive on or before 11am.

Member24th June: We met up with the trekkers today when they returned from Kokoda around 10am this morning. They all enjoyed their trek and look fit and well with no problems whatsover.
The last time I saw them, they were heading off to the Airways Hotel swimming pool to kill a few hours before boarding their flight back home.
On behalf of myself and our staff, thanks guys for choosing to trek with us.
