Tony Ogomeni radioed in this morning from Mt. Bellamy. The Trekkers and the KTL Boys are doing fine. Their next camp is at Eora Creek.

Dianne wanted to know about John's condition. Gail said 'John is still tired but otherwise on the road to well recovery'.

Adam – We agree with little Alex – We will have plenty of work for you to do when you get back from your leisurely walks in the bush.
Adam and Neil we hope the carton of anti fungal cream you ordered over the internet is working a treat. Just be aware that you should only apply it twice a day – dont over do it.
Forecast for the GF (Neil to explain) is rain all day and 14 degrees.

Hi Jim, Looks like you guys are having a great time.
Logan says he is kicking butt in COD, he can't wait for you to get home to show you some cool internet sites. Yes you have turned Logan into a major computer geek. Although he did have a sports carnival where he got lots of ribbons. A little champ. So I still have some hope.
Jed is missing you lots, he is into everything, especially the remotes. Whenever I mention you, he face lights up with a big grin.
Robert says hi, and said he reckons you are feeling the most pain, but I have faith in you….. you would be causing the most pain. biggrin.gif
    Can't wait till Monday.

    Love,

    All of us

25th September: Trekkers have now reached Deneki where they are spending the night. John woke up this morning and thought he would hire Brendan Buka and walk up to meet the group but after he started he did not feel that good so turned round and headed back to Orohaven our base camp in Kokoda.

Tomorrow morning trek 537 will walk out to Kokoda early and should reach Orohaven around 9:30am where no doubt Diane will be surprised to see her husband there waiting for her.

    Hi WA boys and Chuck
I am assuming that Chuck hasn't annoyed you all to death with his constant good humour and it isn't far to go and why are you stopping to take in the view – yes I am familiar with these frustrating habits, having endured it on our Everest Base Camp trek!!
Hope the last of the trip goes well and that you got that roast pig that Chuck ordered.
    Luv Kerrie

7:30pm 25th September: Have just returned home from another briefing at the Gateway Hotel when my son phoned to say Dianne has arrived at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.

Unless someone let it slip, I do not think she was aware John was in Kokoda so it should have been a nice surprise for her to walk in and see him there. Same with John, he was looking forward to walking up to meet up with her so a great ending for them both.

As for the others in this trek, I am sure they are enjoying themselves at Deniki with the remaining KTL boys.

Tonight she will get to sleep on a mattress!

Congratulations must go to the remaining trekkers who walked off the track today in Kokoda and joined Dianne who walked out yesterday instead of overnighting at Deniki.

I have been informed all trekkers are happy and relaxing at our base in Kokoda, Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.

Later this afternoon around 2pm we met up with them again at the swimming pool area of the Gateway Hotel where they were relaxing with some drinks and food. We gave them all a certificate of achievement and a t/shirt. The following photographs were taken at this point in time.

On behalf of Management and Staff, we would like to thank you for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking.

We felt sad that John did not finish and appreciate he must be very disappointed. However, he was there until they reached Manari and he was there at the end in Kokoda when Dianne walked off the track.

Thanks again for walking the track with Kokoda Trekking (KTL). We trust you all have a safe trip back home and that one day we will meet again should any of you decide to come back and walk again.
