Brenton is home safe and almost well. Still tired and a little nauseaous.

Thank you to Vince for walking him back to Kokoda and staying with him until he was airlifted out and then having to catch up to the rest of the group.

Thank you to Darren for looking after him from Port Moresby back to Brisbane, including the 7 hour hospital stay.

Thank you to Gail for getting him out as soon as possible and to the doctor at the hospital for the extra care and treatment to get him home.

Also, this site is great. It helped me keep track of what was happening along with the phone calls from Mark Harvey.

Brenton will be back to have another go.

To the Trekers of 515 – keep going, your doing a great job guys and we'll see you when you return.

To Mr Harbinson, Brenton & Jared, good to hear you have all made it home safe and on the road to recovery. To Sean and Trek 515, keep your spirits up as you have now completed more than half your journey and our thoughts are with you all. P.S. – Sean your footy team lost without you.

20th April: John Derick called in today whilst on the track leading up from Agulogo to Nauro. He asked that I inform everyone that they are all doing fine and no-one is experiencing any problems.

He thought with the other ones air lifted out that some parents might be worrying so he said to put everyone's mind at rest.

They are only a couple of nights away from being picked up at Owers' Corner and all is good which is excellent news.

Jared is doing much better tonight after a good sleep and getting his appetite back.

Thanks for all your help Gail. Thanks Darren for looking after the boys, hope you're feeling a bit better today. Brenton, we hope you're making a good recovery too.

Thank you Mark for letting us know so quickly and meeting the boys at the airport.

It has been interesting hearing about the stories of the helicopter and ambulance rides as they come to mind.

Jared will have some great memories of his time on Kokoda and can't wait to go back and finish the trek.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes.

21st April: We heard today that they had reached Ioribaiwa Village where they would spend the night. Tomorrow we suspect they will try and get as close to Owers' Corner as possible and although we have not heard, we suspect they will sleep at Goldie River which is only a relative short (although steep) walk to the top where they will walk through the arch way and celebrate the end of their trek.

    Hi Sean,
We hope everything is still on track and that tonight you should be enjoying a nice warm shower and beautiful soft bed. We have all missed you so much (of course Laura would never admit to it) and we are all extremely proud of you and what you have accomplished. We hope you have taken lots of photos and have some wonderful stories to share when you return.
    Love Mum, Dad and Laura
To all the guys of Trek 515 – we hope you have all enjoyed the experience and we look forward to you all returning tomorrow.

To all nervous and anxious parents of students and families of teachers,
Paul and I have just contacted the hotel and although we didn't speak with Sean the receptionist confirmed their arrival and that they were in the restaurant. If anyone receives any further information could you please post it on this site.

Thanks for the update Paul and Belinda. I was both nervous and anxious and had been checking the site every 15 minutes for most of today. Great to hear that they are safe and well.

23rd April: Sorry had a busy day and then when I could finally post the internet was down.

Met up with the boys tonight and they all had these HUGE grins as having completed one of the toughest walks in the world. Most of them did not stop talking about their highlights and experiences so not doubt you will be in for an ear bashing when they all return home.

When we met they were all tucking into PIZZA's with their teachers!

Thank you Trek 515 for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking. You gave us a few scary moments but all was well in the end. Take care
