MemberTrek 505 left Owers' Corner for Kokoda on the 13th July with Clive Jinga as their guide. Two trekkers, father and daughter, namely Jeremy & Deborah Clare are walking with our guide and porters.
Photograph:
You may have to look hard to find Jeremy and Deborah as they travelled out to Owers' Corner in the same vehicle as trek 424 which left on the same day.

MemberUpdate 16th July: Trekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they will spend the night again with two of our other treks heading in the same direction.
Mid morning I heard from David Clark in trek 477 that Clive had decided to spend the night at Menari.
However this afternoon around 2pm we received a message from Clive that they were at Brigade Hill and heading down to Efogi.
These trekkers are doing it tougher than the other two groups but we always inform trekkers its not a race, take your time, one foot after the other and you will make it to the end. These two trekkers will certainly prove that.
Half way and now heading for home which in this case is where our boys come from KOKODA!!!

MemberUpdate 19th July: Have just heard from Clive their guide that trekkers are still on the move and are heading to spend the night at Isurava Monument area instead of Alola as previously planned.
As I type this they should be passing through Alola. A few hours later they will turn a corner and there will be the wonderful sight of the Isurava Monument area. When you walk from Owers' Corner this I am sure will hit you more than walking up from Kokoda. Its a very emotional area for trekkers an certainly one of immense reflection as to how our young diggers were able to do what they did.
By the time trekkers reach this point they think its been a hard enough walk with the latest greatest gear compared to our young solders back in 1942.
