MemberA group from Cairns headed out on the track today which included a father and son combination. Lachlan Pocock, 15 years of age accompanied his father Craig and other friends, Christopher Long; Carl Luppi and Matthew Starr on their adventure of walking the Kokoda Track.
This morning they had an early start as they had to be collected from the Airway's Hotel for our chartered Tropic Air flight into Kokoda which was down for a 7:30am departure. As it turned out, it took off around 7:50am.
Today they will have an easy day just looking around the Kokoda Station, getting to know their porters and hanging out in Kokoda at our camp. Tomorrow morning they will be up early for their first days walk up to Isurava Village where they will overnight.

MemberUpdate 8th September: Have just finished talking to David by sat phone and he advised me that yesterday they walked around for awhile and ended up trying their luck at fishing to no avail. They spent last night at Orohaven our camp in Kokoda and this morning moved off quickly towards their destination of Isurava Village.

MemberApproximately 2pm today they reached Isurava Village. Apparently they then walked up to check out the wrecked plane in this area so must have been feeling fit when they reached their destination for today.
According to David, all trekkers are doing well with no problems whatsoever at this stage.
