27 April: Our guide alongside Soc on this trek tried to get a message out today but the radio was breaking up so all we heard was….Trek 500 update – our location is ????? then blank. We can only assume they are in the Templeton's Creek/Myola 1900 area.

Other companies are talking on the radio now with the same result that its hard to comprehend the message they are trying to say.

Later today they will climb up higher and will no doubt call out again. If we hear anything we will post here for you.

28 April: Soc phoned in to say they spent the night at Eora Creek and today will move off towards Myola so I guessed wrong in my previous post.

b]28th April: Trekkers have now reached Efogi where they will spend the night. Seems trekkers and porters are having a lot of fun and I believe there is lots of singing.

Received two calls from the track today. The first call was from Dudley to say they were at Brigade Hill heading down to Agulogo where they would spend the night. Tomorrow they planned on being at Ofi Creek.

Later in the day Soc phoned in by Sat phone to say they had all reached Agulogo and that everyone was ok and doing well.

2nd May: Have not heard from the them yesterday but know they are on the home stretch and will more than likely be heading for Goldie River today as they are down for a pick up from Owers' Corner tomorrow.

Earlier this week the road was quite bad and trekkers had to walk up to Vesulogo so who knows tomorrow they may have another couple of hours to walk before our vehicles can reach them.

On the 24th April there were about 8 buses bogged up there and earlier this week another bus was stuck and our 4wheel drives could not get past it. Will see how we go tomorrow!

3rd May: As planned trekkers came off the track today and tonight were celebrating at the Gateway Hotel. We joined them for dinner and they all seemed to have a great time out on the Kokoda Track.

On this trek one lad was lucky enough to have for his porter the trek champion Brendan Buka who set the record for the Kokoda Challenge Race in 17 hours 20 minutes in the direction of this trek set in 2007. Brendan also holds the record from Owers' Cnr to Kokoda in 16 hours 34 minutes.
