Member17th April: We heard from Davidson today that they slept last night at Ioribaiwa and were heading somewhere between Naoro and Menari where they would spend the night.
Alison is struggling a bit but Davidson feels sure she will do ok and finish her trek.

MemberHi Marko, hope you are having a good time. I'm keeping a check on your progress via the SPOT program- how's that for computer literacy! There's still some life in the old dog yet. Looking at the terrain maps you've got some pretty uphill stretches ahead of you so good luck! Mum's in Melbourne as you know and all is fine down there and I'm sure she would send her best wishes too. Regards, Noddy.

Member19th April: Sorry could not post last night as my internet was down. We were advised that trekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they spent last night.
All continue to do well and from today onwards will be heading for home which in this case is KOKODA!!! GO, Trek 498 keep up the good work.

MemberG'day to Alison Laing on trek 498!
We read today that you have past the half-way mark of your voyage and
it is all down hill from here. Aside from the hills that is!!!
Michelle, Gypsy, Soxie, Lizzy, Conan and "bump" are very proud of you and hope you
are doing well.
P.S, "Bump" is still a bump & not a baby – Michelle is clenched with legs crossed!!!
I am clenched with fingers crossed!!
Love from the Maguires!!19/04/2009 at 7:17 am #101949Debbie Forster

MemberDear Mark,
Thinking of you as we sit down to scones with jam and cream and a hot cup of tea at Lea and Sue's house. It's raining outside, but we are dry and warm. Yesterday I walked all the way to the shops and back …. took me about 20 mins … totally exhausting! Anyway, hope you are having a nice holiday. Looking forward to hearing all about it. Lots of Love from your cousin – Deb (and Pete, Josh, Mia, Lea, Sue and Nodrog too).19/04/2009 at 1:01 pm #101957Lea and Sue
MemberHi Mark, I hope you are drier than we are – it is pouring in Port Macquarie – hopefully Deb abd Pete take it back to Sydney!!!! Lea is having a wonderful time tracking your journey – we have downloaded Google Earth and could see the village you stayed in last night by putting in your coordinates – technology is amazing! Hope your feet are holding out and the photos are bulding. Love Lea and Sue
