MemberThis morning we said goodbye to our latest lot of trekkers to head out on the Kokoda Track, among them a third time 'Anzac' trekker by the name of David Currie. This morning trekkers were picked up from a few different hotels and some made it to the airport in a courtesy bus provided by the Gateway Hotel and the Airways Hotel. Trekkers in this group include the following people:
- Matt Irvine
- Sandra Blunt
- David Currie
- Michael Villante
- Michael Taft
- Scott Blum
- Steve Pink
- Tom Garnaut
- Jason Parsons
- Lara Parsons
- Chris Beaufort
- Emma Beaufort
The first flight got away around 8am.

MemberAs it is a 9 seater aircraft, the remaining three trekkers had to wait for the flight to go out and return before they too could head off to Kokoda.

MemberToday would have been a quiet day lazing around Kokoda. Tomorrow morning the plan set by Wallace Lemeki their guide, was to head out to Isurava around 6am as he said its really hot and he wants to get the walk underway quickly before the heat sets in.
Tonight trekkers will sleep as our guests in our Orohaven Kokoda Retreat guesthouse area.

Enjoy a wonderful and safe trip. You are doing it 39 years after I did, to the month. We are thinking of you, the heat, the mud, the sweat and the climbing.

MemberLara & Jason,
Kerry phoned this morning, having a challenge with the message posting, but is able to see your progress. Hope the legs are standing up to the climbing. The memories are and will be fantastic.

MemberRe Lara & Jason, heard today that they both had tummy problems so hope they are both ok now. We had two guys lifted off the track today along with their carer/teacher and he passed on this info to me.
If they were not ok, then they would have surely jumped on the chopper today.
