Hey Tom, Looks fascinating and challenging. I feel sorry for your porter – your backpack was bought to fit your 6' 3" frame. No doubt today has been more challenging than yesterday. I hope you all pulled up OK tonight. Keep up the good work. Everyone on Sydney is both jealous and proud of you.

Update 6th July: Trekkers have now made it to Menari where they are sharing the campsite with two other treks of our on the go. Trek 469 is heading in the same direction and trek 466 is heading towards Owers' Corner. So I can just imagine its party time in Menari tonight as they also have Freddy Yauga (trek 488) to entertain them with his songs and guitar along with quite a few uke'ule players and singers as part of this huge group of porters.

About five minutes ago I walked in the door from a debriefing with two groups that came off the track today and boy where they HAPPY! If trek 488 has half the fun that they had we are in for some excellent comments at the end of their trek.

Apparently Laurie has found his mountain legs and has not missed a beat all day long! All other trekkers are still doing really well.

    Photographs:

    Pic 1: Menari Village
    Pic 2: Menari Guesthouse area
    Pic 3: View around Menari
Pic 4: Ex trekkers walking through the village – you will note no GRASS. With no motor mowers on the track its high maintenance so they keep the village grass free! But believe me when its wet its so slippery.

    Hi Sam,
Glad to hear that all are managing the trek well and that Laurie has found his mountain legs. Hope you didn't stay up too late with all the music and partying. We are missing you. Grandma is staying with us this week.
    Keep trekking and smiling, tongue.gif
