Four mates headed out from Kokoda for Isurava on the 5th May after overnighting at out block in Kokoda. Trekkers included:

Brett Smythe; Mark Trower; John Papple and Brett Middleton

The track radio was down yesterday but I heard via sat phone that trekkers did ok and have reached Isurava Village where they spent last night.

Update 6th May: Have just heard from Chris their guide by sat phone that they have all safely reached Eora Creek where they will overnight. Tomorrow they will make their way towards Templeton's Crossing or Myola Junction.

So far so good the guys are carrying their packs. The food porters packs are getting lighter so they have offered to help out if necessary so the message today was to hold off the 4 personal porters on standby at Kokoda waiting for a call to run up and catch the group.

    Photographs:

Eora Creek crossing that they would have walked across earlier today. At the present time they are all relaxing enjoying the roar of the creek.

Upate 8th May: Trekkers are still doing well and today will walk into Efogi having reached the half way point and still carrying their packs so they should feel pretty proud of themselves.

Some photographs below of the area they are presently walking in.

Update 9th May: Trekkers have reached Agulogo where they will spend the night. All is still going along according to plan. Chris their guide said there is heaps of MUD around which slowed them down today as they were heading for Naoro. However, he added that the creek is good for swimming; something about a PIG and the fact they were all having a great time.

Update 12th May: Trekkers pushed through to Ioribaiwa and then on to Goldie River and arrived up at Owrs' Corner as planned this morning around 8am this morning. They were then picked up by Russell Eroro in our Troopcarrier and arrived back in Port Moresby via Bomana War Cemetery around 11am this morning.

After leaving Owers' Corner our troopcarrier got bogged and it was everyone out while Russell tried to get through the mud!
