Boss Meri
MemberTrekkers left here as planned on the 30th June – my apologies for not getting anything up until now but we have been very busy.
On Monday afternoon they arrived a couple of hours late due to a delay of aircraft out of Brisbane. After we met up with them, they drove off to the Gateway Hotel to leave some luggage behind and then to Bomana War Cemetery. Mid afternoon they were then driven out in our transport to Owers' Corner. The first night due to the late departure they spent the night at Goodwater campsite.
Trekkers in this group are as follows:
Tim Mars; Andrew McKenzie; Rob Collins; and father and son Halko Marovac Snr & Jnr.

MemberHi Lover We saw the first photos on the website and you all look good. Hope your all still smiling and enjoying yourselves. Can't wait to see some more photos. The kids have now finished school for term two and we're counting the days till your home. All is fine on the home front, Mariah asks daily for her Daddy but she is being brave. All the kids took the book about the track in for news this week and they are enjoying looking at it and trying to figure out where along the track you might be. Love you 30 40 X infinity and missing you heaps. Hope your knee is holding up OK. Love Peta.

MemberTrekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they will spend the night. Halko Marovac Jnr. is doing it tougher than the rest but is hanging in there. Arnold their guide sounded quite confident today that they would all make it to Kokoda.
Earlier oday they walked up Brigade Hill before heading down into Efogi, refer map below:

We are all really proud of what you are doing but want you home in one piece. DT is costing the tooth fairy lots of money as he lost 2 teeth in one day, MH is staying strong but missed you like crazy & HH is being the man of the house and helping whenever I ask. I Love you and can't wait for you to be home. Love Me.05/07/2008 at 7:48 am #100234Boss Meri

MemberUpdate 7th July: Trekkers have now reached Alola and this morning I received a sat phone from Arnold and he says they are all ok and heading down to Isurava Monument area then onto Kovelo where they will spend the night.
Turns out its not Jnr.'s knees but his legs in general that have been giving him a hard time. The boys have removed most of his pack weight and now he is doing ok and moving along ok.
I passed on your messages Peta to our guide who in turn will let your husband know as it was 6:30am and he was still sleeping. In five minutes time we head out to Owers' Corner to pick up the group coming out today.

MemberUpdate 8th July: Trekkers walked off the track yesterday and right now are back in Port Moresby and spending the night at Loloata Dive Resort on the outskirts of town.
I met up with them this afternoon when they arrived back in from Kokoda. All were in good spirits and happy they completed their trek.
So congratulation trek 473 for successfully walking the Kokoda Trail or as some say Kokoda Track.
