MemberThis trek was supposed to fly into Kokoda and commence from that end but due to weather conditions, their flight was cancelled. After discussing this with trekkers, they decided they wanted to change the direction of their trek around rather than waste another day sitting around the hotel. We then drove them out to Owers' Corner where I believe they slept the night. Trekkers include :
Dean Squire; Rodney Watson; Justin Roberts; Chris Rogers; Matt Rogers; Kurt Gissane; John Nichols; Jordan Laing; Andrew Pudney; Mal Norton; Nick Cooke; Russell Bond; Charlie Allen and Christian Binting

MemberUpdate 23rd September: Trekkers have now reached Nauro around 11am this morning. Tarina said all are doing well and that they hoped to reach Brigade Hill where they planned on spending the night.

MemberUpdate 24th September: We heard from another trek passing in the opposite direction that trekkers spent the night at Myola 1900 campsite area. Today they should be up bright and early as they will have to try and reach Kokoda today due to their flight back from there tomorrow.
Hence today they have a big walk ahead of them. However, being fit young guys I am sure they will do ok as they have not seemed to have experienced any problems to date.
We will have to wait and see how they plan things as they may decide to camp somewhere tonight and walk out in the morning to Kokoda airstrip. Two flights have been booked from 8am onwards to pick them up from Kokoda airport.
Have since heard that they camped at Alola Village on the night of the 25th.

MemberUpdate 26th September: Congratulations must go to Trek 471 as they walked off the track today in Kokoda and are now back in their respective hotels celebrating their successful trek.
I was under pressure tonight as they had me thinking if there was ever a trek that had walked faster then they had. From memory I think they are the second fastest trek unless someone out there reading this can prove me wrong.
All trekkers pulled up ok and looked really good when we caught up with them tonight. I feel sorry for you all however, when they arrive back home with their huge ego's…
as they recall all they went through since they commenced their trek earlier this week.
Refer below for photographs taken tonight at the Gateway Hotel. Absent were Charlie and Christian who were both planning on turning up around 7pm so we missed them. Hopefully there were both on a high like the rest of the smiling group as seen in the pics below:

MemberOn behalf of Management and Staff, many thanks for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking. On the way back from the hotel after meeting up with this group of trekkers, their guide Tarina called up on the radio to sign off from his trek.
We thanked him and his porters for the way they looked after his 14 trekkers and how they got them all home to Kokoda safe and sound.
He said they really enjoyed their trek and hope they did also.
For any trekkers in this group reading this, perhaps you may like to log on and post a testimonial for KTL by clicking on the link below:
